Post by: newton_alex on October 15, 2010, 06:07:47 pm
Hey any australian members of the community... I need some help

I am doing a GCSE Cooking and I was looking into Australian food... now I have 1 hour to cook the meal but I can prepare BEFORE!

Basically what ideas are good for it ? I thought you guys could help me :/

Now remember.... I'm from the UK so ingredients might not be able to be brought!

Wanna talk more... [email protected]

Well, when it comes to Aussie food, I'm pretty much just meat pies, sausage rolls, and whatever you can fit on a BBQ. I don't know much about fancy cuisine. :P

Doesn't need to be fancy just generally Australian based/origin

I mean - did barbecue come Australia 'cos if they did I'm sorted :P

Australia doesn't really have any foods that we can call 'traditional', as we're all of British or other European descent, so most of the things we enjoy have origins in Europe.
However, if we're looking to cook the stereotyped things that Australians are said to eat, then you should be making a BBQ with shrimps (prawns), steaks, onion, etc etc..
Sorry I can't be of more help
