Well real life has caught up with me and dealt me a savage blow.
My activity will be very very low for quite a while, mainly since I now have to look after my body before it gives in.
Rather recently got diagonosed as Diabetic, Type 2.
All my own fault, spending too much time in front of TV and Computer.
All I can say to you kids... keep on with exercise, cos its now too late for me, I will suffer for the rest of my life, although I can become fit again, the diabeties will never leave me.
120kg at 35 is NOT good....
I will occasionally pop in to Gta IV but its not going to be like before.
I will miss you guys, but I not going completely, I will be around, just not as much as I used to be.
-
Sorry to hear that CBF. I know a few diabetics myself, some are family members, so I have a partial awareness of what it's like.
Good luck with life, and keep trying to enjoy it the best you can. Don't worry about us, we'll be fine. ;)
-
Sad to hear CBF. :/
Take care, and i hope everything will be as good as possible for you in time!
-
It's a shame to hear that you are unwell CBF. I wish you the best of luck for the future.
-
Sad.
-
This is very sad to hear and I am not sure what to say, really. I wish I could give you some advice, but I don't dare. I suppose your doctor has given you the advice needed. My advice for you is to follow his/hers!
The only thing left for me to say is that I wish you the best of luck and I've never meant that more than I do now.
-
I suggest joining a body-building community.
Anyway, I love you as a brother, CBFasi. The owners, scripters, administration, and players will miss you beyond description. I cannot thank you enough for how much you've contributed to the server.
All I can say to you kids... keep on with exercise, cos its now too late for me, I will suffer for the rest of my life, although I can become fit again, the diabeties will never leave me.
Bear this in mind. I've already made the decision to be physically active because of the example people like CBFasi put out for me.
Your problem will serve as a lesson for all of us young people, CBFasi. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you good luck in whatever your future may be. Your hard-ass attitude that kept the server under control during your presence (should have been without your presence too, but whatever...) and your playfulness that provided fun for everyone including myself will truly be missed. Your personality is much like my grandfather, whom I've come to adore.
Again, you will be missed. With love, mate.
-
I feel sorry...
Please be gentle to yourselve CB! you are one of the greatest persons here... I know how diabets works (I made study some years about it). This realy sucks... but... I hope one day we see you a bit more healty...
Good luck CB!
-
Sad to hear that CBF,And its not too late for you...its never too late.
See you around man, take care of YOURSELF and your health.and thanks for the advices.
-
That are very sad news CB...
I wish you to have powers and patience to face this problem...
When you will get used to it, then many troubles will pass...
Be strong and take care of yourself...
Egoism now is the part of success... If you understand me...
And you are always welcomed here, you know... :)

Your weight is based on your height, not your age. Obviously a taller person will weigh more than a shorter one. It's still not too late for you as you've only just been diagnosed with it so as long as you don't ignore it hopefully you will still be able to lead a more or less normal life. Take your time with it, as it is your health that you are dealing with.
-
CBFASI, I know from friends that it is possible to live a very normal life with diabetes, however you will have to adapt your lifestlye a bit.
Most important is to carefully watch your diet, and start living a healthy lifestyle with regular excersize and yes, losing some weight will be needed. Follow the regime strictly and you will be ok for a long time to come.
Get yourself in to shape, we will manage to continue on the great work you have done, and you might continue to help out when you have a little time to spare.
-
Sorry to hear that CBF, I just hope this don't mean some of us may not get too see you again.
Good Luck for the time coming anyway :)
-
Get well CBF :)
The community is here to support you!
-
Do your best to cope with it cb, and prosper in any way possible... we will all miss you, but for once think of yourself first. :(
-
Owh man.. sad.. Good luck with everything!! Hopefully you can fully come back in a while.
-
Sad to hear!
Good luck facing and fixing the problem Fasi!
Best of luck!
-
Sorry to hear man!
Hope you'll get well soon ;)
-
bad to hear this news :(
I hope all will be ok for you man,be careful, and i hope i will see you around again !
-
CBF - It's becoming quite common in the UK as you may have been told. It's entirely manageable through which you will be able to lead a normal life. I'm sure your GP has already informed you of the options avaliable to you. If not - here is the link:
http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/diabetes-type2/Pages/Introduction.aspx (http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/diabetes-type2/Pages/Introduction.aspx)
Look on the bright side :)
-
I have few friends which have type 2. Sometimes, we jog together in the morning, it is quite fun.
Bare in mind that you must not smoke or drink and where you live is what matters. Some toxins from the city air may increase the rate of type 2.
Diet plan, exercise and support from friends, family will get you quite better in no time. You know that song "Always look on the bright side of life"
Very best of luck.
-
Its the lifestyle change thats going to be hard, its a major change for me, and sort of says why I got it..
It will be a new normal... just not the live I have so far lived, my past has had its faults and I am getting punished for that now.
Life does go on, but I need to put myself above all for a while, I need to find that new normal, and I need to make it work for me so I can carry on without the fear and concern. Thankfully I do not need injections and my aim is NOT to let it get that bad.
My biggest hurdle is the mental affect of the news and some other issues that are still around. Its all a mess, I just got to untangle it and move forward.
I will be around..
-
This is sad to hear. I hope everything works out for you. Don't punish your self, because you are a good person. Things could be much worse so look on the bright side :)
Good luck CBF and get better. :cop:
-
Sad news
Good luck with the Future
See u around in Iv.Mp
Mr Ship Man
-
Very sad to hear about that, CBFasi.. but as others has said, good luck and get well.
-
Sad to hear this, I hope you can continue your life the way you want it.
Be strong, never give up!
-
Its sat cbf. You are the "head" of all Argonath, and Argonath without you is not the same. :( I hope your come back As possible, but first take care of your health. after this the Game life man.
Keep us update, If you are better or not ok?
-
Sad news CBF. Take care man.
-
Sad to hear that CBF, take some time to rest and enjoy life. :)
-
Get well soon. We here at Argonath await your honorable return. :)
-
My best wishes to you my dear friend! Have a great time tackling the new challenge you got in life and succeed with your new aims to make the best out of each day.
-
My Dad has Type 2 Diabetes, although it's not such a problem for him now.
He regularly takes shots of Insulin (after eating I think), though the most important thing he does is regularly walk and watch his diet. Having a balanced diet and fulfilling your dietry needs is crucial in keeping Diabetes under control.
Anyhow, I'm a 100 percent sure you will manage just fine and will go on live a long and happy life.
Good luck. :)
-
Best of wishes CBFasi, you will be missed friend!
Hope to see you around again
-
Sad to hear about this. Best of luck to you CBFasi. We will wait parade when you return, good friend.
-
I hope you get better, and live a normal life, and still be able to do anything that I can do.
and oshi, who the hell am I gonna pm my maps to now? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
Sorry to hear this CBFasi, though I dont think you have to worry about that. I have a close friend with Diabetes type 2 and he's living a normal life.
However, your weight might become your undoing unless you do something about it. I'm just going to give a few basic tips I hope will help you.
- Drop sodas
- Drop junk food
- Cut down on snacks
- Go for a walk around a forest, you dont have to jog, it's just about keeping your body moving.
- It's not about eating less, it's about eating more healthy( healthy food tastes good aswell, healthy food aint only eating salads all day.) and moving your body around.
Good luck to you CBFasi, I hope you feel better soon.
-
Exercise and eat more greens.
-
Im very sorry CBFASI i love you man thank you for your helpful work on argonath and the kindness you gave us
-
Sorry to hear that CBF. Get better and hopefully you will be able to get through it and live life. But just take care man.
-
You will be missed Old Friend till we speak again.. Good Bye
-
Sad to hear, Best of luck on it...

-
Man this sucks but im not gonna look down on it! I didnt know you great and im not gonna act like i was your best friend but I just hate seeing stuff like this happening i mean you on Argonath minding your own business and one day this happens.. Oh well good luck with it man if anybody i know you can handle it! Remember though, Stay positive looking down and thinking negative will make you feel worse about it. Hope to see ya around alot!
-
That's saddening news...I wish you all the best, old friend.
-
Sad to hear, but dont give up. I really wish that you
-
Sorry, to hear that.
I know it sucks a lot when you are on high weight, although I got rid of that aswell.
I wish you good luck, and keep going for it - in the end you will have a wonderfull result.
-
God dammn, that is sad CBF :( I've also heard about ppl doing well with it even tro they have to exercise as alot already said.
-
Hi Charles.
I've known you now for a year at-least.
There was not a day since when you went away in October when I did not forget you when I was posting on the forums or in-game / on ParUni also. I always thought "we need CBF" / "where is CBF", last night I was thinking about you too.
Although it's a relief to know you are looking on taking care of yourself for once.
There is no doubt you've done much more then ANYONE for this community, you even ended up risking your life for this unworthy community.
I can only pray that you take care of yourself, even Type 2 diabetes can be easily managed with a strict routine. My own father was recently diagnosed with Diabetes, he's not that bad, like with smoking, he just decided one day to stop. There is no one I can compare to my father, but you, someone who was like a big brother, a good one, not like the shitty one I have for real
Don't worry you'll not need injections ;), you'll manage.
As for your mental state, make sure you talk to your GP about it, it's not as bad as you think, you just need to realise you're strong enough to manage.
From everything you've done for the community and its individuals', you deserve something much more then these words.
I could only regret that I did not get to know you better, didn't even get yo' MSN T.T, although I hardly use it... I can take ARPD for you, don't worry, everything will be fine. :rules:
-
Like others, I find this to be terribly sad news. Sad not just because you will spend less time with us but because this has happened to CBFasi, the human being, who we know to be our good friend.
Good luck with shedding those extra pounds.
-
This was very unexpected. Real life always comes first, CBF. I really hope you can adopt this kind of things in your life. Goodluck, CBF. No matter what happens, just focus on RL.
-
Oh, CB, that are already better news that it did not go far for injections!!!
I wish you to get it treated (if it can) and a good fit in a new lifestyle...
Good luck and take care!...
I am sure you will manage...
-
I agree with Aragorn..I read the first post and though the worst that you'd have to put with with the annoyance of injections and bla bla..
-
You're still young enough, to make a huge step in changing your way of life, which is one of the hardest thing a mature adult can face, cause then you need to cut it all from the roots, and start all over, like everyone does in adolescence age mostly.
You're one of the most dedicated people I met here, so you got the strength in you for a life change!
I wish you all the best in life, to get some weight down, your diabetes always in control, and a healthy and long life!
Cheers!
-
My mother has type 2 to.
She doesn't inject her self though. She just has to do that sugar test thing with a pinch to draw blood.
Good Luck Cbfasi.
All the best,
Jack_
-
Just exercise daily from now on, enroll with your local gym to help with weight loss or buy equipment for at home.
Sad to hear someone from here has Diabetes, I don't know if stress has contributed to it but if it has then I advise you to stay off Argonath for a while or atleast only come on for an hour or so per day.
-
Be careful when excerising as it causes your blood sugar level to drop.
Take a Mars Bar or Lucozade with you for before or after you've excersized.
-
im sorry to hear whats happened to you cbf all i can say i hope you have a good life and a brighter future ahead of you and you will be in my thoughts and my prayers :)
-
- Go for a walk around a forest
That's fucking fun. No sarcasm intended. I love bringing a few friends, water, and a small snack.
Depriving yourself of food seems tempting, but don't do it, especially if you start doing intense workouts. Try grilled chicken over fried chicken for example - grilled chicken doesn't have all of that oil shit, and the flames actually make the fat burn off anyway. And try home-making fries instead of buying them at the store. You can simply cut up a potato and bake 'em up, as opposed to deep frying them in oil.
Camping is an excellent way of getting exercise as well. It also forces you to ration food, since the super market isn't any less than 300 kilometers away, and that you have only brought so much food. One of the best advices regarding food in survival situations is to refrain from eating three square meals; eating little by little makes much more use of what the food provides as opposed to three square meals. It also encourages you to only eat what you need, hence why it could help in today's civilized life outside of the woods.
Believe it or not, rowing a boat is a FULL BODY exercise. More muscle on the entire body = more fat burned on the entire body. Give that a try too.
Try going for a vacation in the mountains of inland Europe. Plenty of opportunities to hike, and nothing really to stress you.
-
Good luck CBF, lets hope that you can return to argonath :)
-
Health is the richness that any money in the word could ever achieve.
I wish you the best of luck and get well. Diabetics aren't curable, but you can manage them.. Just follow the doctors instructions.
And about your work for the community, I wouldn't worry or be sad about it, after all.. Health comes just about every thing else in the world.
-
I'm very sorry to hear that , i don't even know what to say , i wish for you the best and like you said losing some weight gonna make you better , this is the life , a day for you and a day on you.
Good Luck and i hope for you the best ;)
Take care!
-
CBFASI, I know from friends that it is possible to live a very normal life with diabetes, however you will have to adapt your lifestlye a bit.

C'ya CBF. It's been a nice ride.
One of my close friends is a Diabetic. You can live a fully normal life.
Anyway, take a break, no matter how long it is, and come back. You know you are always welcome here.
-
We'll all miss you CBF, Get better !! i know you will, WE know you WILL!
:)
-
I hope it can be treated... take care of yourself, CB. :)
-
Good luck fighting that damn sickness Carl Banks Fasi!
Why dont you take that anti-gravity tank and fight it! Argonath will miss our old fart with a brain... And dont turn on your life just because the doctors told you some bad news, enjoy it! Enjoy your life and be happy about it, as happiness is the cure to everything.
-
Good luck CBFasi, very sad news and you will still be just fine.
Also, don't lose hope - Diabetes type 2 is curable. My grandfather took such care of himself that he turned his diabetes around. The doctors can't even explain it. Now he's dying from cancer but that's not the point.
Good luck brother, and I am so sorry for what SASD did to you just before this crisis also came up in your life.
-
I haven't seen or heard much from CBFasi, I just hope he's recovering.
But, I can't stop thinking the worst has happened, I dunno how long he had the symptoms before seeking medical help.
Please let us know how you're doing.
-
Get fit CB, don't eat fast food, it'll be alright :)
Go to gym, maybe you'll see alot of pretty girls :)
-
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
See this as an opportunity to change your life style.
Follow your doctor's advices and ordinations. Get in touch with a dietist, if you haven't already done that.
Then kick the diabetes' ass.
I wish you the best of luck.
Sincerely.
Curtis_Emmet
EDIT: OH yes, I almost forgot, I strongly recommend keeping stress levels to an absolute minimum (I remember that you once told that you felt very stressed about different Argonath related things) since stress releases cortisone, which raises the blood sugar level, which means that you need insulin to bring the level down.
-
However, this does not actually limit you to what foods you can have that much.
You can actually choose to have more insulin so you can have more sugary drinks or whatever.
Anyway, the advice above is probably not technically correct, so ignore it if you think its a bit rubbish ^^
Look after yourself you old fart :)
Joe
-
Get better soon CBF! Swimming, cycling, rowing, running, sit-ups and press-ups each day; these all help with fitness, I know they work for me!
I've found that whatever I normally have, just cut it in half, or even quarters, depending what it is, and that works really well for me. Snacks inbetween are acceptable, but instead of chocolate, or crisps (like I used to), I had apples, and bananas, and other fruits instead.
My parents swear by the snack-a-jack diet. Basically, just eat snack-a-jacks! I've always found that one boring though, to be honest, so don't bother with than one :)
I used to eat lots of convenience food (fast food, ready meals etc) but making your own food is much better! Salads work a treat too :)
Good luck :D

Doing this will make the blood sugar level very unstable, which will effect one's body negatively in the long run. The only ''good'' time to eat/drink sugar bombs is when one's blood sugar is very low and needs to get the blood sugar up. :)

It's quite understandable that one wants to leave a community whom you have done alot for and all you get in return is whining and diabetes...
Consider yourself lucky that CBFasi actually returned all those times.
-

Who are you 2 post wonder?

And who the fuck are you to comment? If he wants to leave, he wants to leave.
In case you haven't noticed, hes given you a perfectly good (or bad) reason for leaving! Now, if you have a problem with CBF, then we have a problem with you, and you do not belong in Argonath.
I'm sure I speak for all when I say that.
-
Hmm....
On the general note, though I've already replied through ARPD, take good care CBFasi.
Wish you well.

Perhaps you'll realise them when the devil shows you your foolish mistakes.

Thought I would provide a small update.
The diabeties is 'under control'
However the mental affect of the news, along with some much older problems are still having a very very very serious affect.
I am not at breakdown point but I am just above it, motivation is extremely lacking.
I will appear occasionally but I am not the same as I was, I am having to be very much controlled in what I do and say as its taking very little to send me to the deep end and I do not want any player to suffer what I can do to them when I am there.
It is going to be a long and hard struggle to get myself back together but I will not leave Argonath, there are many friends here and in time I have to use that to help me return to normality.
Good luck with what you do, consider that this is a game, real life will deal cards much worse than loosing 500000 in game. In the game you can get it back, in real life its much much harder.
I will be around..
-
Glad to hear it goes a bit batter already, and you need to keep trying to keep this up, just dont do any stupid things.
-
Good to hear from you CBF, and thank god the diabetes is under control!
-
Glad to hear some news from you CBF.
-
having diabetes is like being in a wheelchair, if i ever get any of those 2, i'll shoot myself.

You know, you are so insensitive
+1 to that.
That response was basically...shocking. He is dealing with his shit IRL, and is telling us what is happening. Nothing wrong with that at all.
Don't troll CBF's topic please.

Stop with the damn trolling, or forum warns will drop like rain.

I guess if you have nothing constructive to say, just think it in your head, and move on.
After all, why waste your own time, eh? ^.^

Thank you. Some people in the community need to realize there are a few that actually do care for the good of others and the community as a whole whether they have had good encounters or not. I am one who is like that, we have each woven our threads into the Argonath fabric and we left our imprint and still are leaving it. This community is a privilege and everyone should enjoy it while they can. Like i said people do care for the community and Aragorn is right, quit accusing of asslicking, it's quite immature.
