Well, this is kinda weird, I always had this question at the bottom of my head.
Why do people use MTA map editor to make SAMP maps? is there such thing as SAMP map editor?
I mean SA:MP is obviously competing against MTA, and SA:MP uses there map maker? seems kinda' weird to me.

SA:MP doesn't use MTA's map editor - MTA's map editor is basically a baseline for those trying to create a map in SA:MP. From what I can tell, making maps in SA:MP is harder because they have no user-friendly map editor like MTA's. MTA gives a live exact model of what you're making, hence it's good to experiment with.

i remember seeing a third party editor for samp on the samp forums.

Mappers make maps in MTA:SA, it sounds ridicilous if they are forbidden it, I mean, its only a game.
And because of the converter-websites they make it in MTA:SA, easier, faster, more user-friendly, and you can get all objects ;)

We have an in-game mapping tool for SA:MP, however it has been modified to allow exact positioning. As nobody seems to have thought of adjusting the script, people are using MTA mapper. :D

The MTA:SA Mapper is used most of the time to create a project. What to put, where to put and how to put, how will it look like etc.

It's much easier to use MTASA's mapper than any SA:MP object filterscript..
