Title: Putting a guide section on forums
Post by: Rick. on November 21, 2010, 01:16:54 am
Well topic says it all, it would be nice and newcomers would get to see how things run.

Or they could simply register, run into the different topics, and eventually blend in as everyone here has.

The many sticky topics here should already suffice to leave the new players at least with a basic knowledge of some sort.

The SA:MP new player guide (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=28585.0) is more than what they need to know to be able to play. The rest should be left to imagination to ensure diversity between players.

We have a lot of helpful players and through that we can show how Argonath is a real-strong community of friendship and equality.
Promote yourself as a helper and people will always ask you for help. We do not need a board to answer to questions like some
answer-a-lot factory.

The forum stickies (in particular in the Welcome area), as well as rules really sum up the basics I suppose.
The majority of newcomers have already had some experience playing on one of Argonath's servers/games (getting to know of the site), and would most likely already have a idea, however faint, on the general things.

Hi ~Legend~

Good Idea and well backed up. As the argonath community continues to grow, I am sure there will be a need for some section of this kind. However at the minute, As Phantom points out a player will most often come to a server game and ask people in there, I know i have instead of trying to find my way around the site! (Trust me finding some bugs sections on the forum can be a headache!)

But generally its a good idea to get out there and just dive into the forum. After a few tries with it I am sure they will be able to find their way around, Plus how many people look at stickies, I generally look at whats new.

Happy Gaming!

Heya DellStorm - firstly, welcome to our community. ;)

Actually it isn't my idea, but Enzo's. I was simply commenting on it.
We actually have a guide of sorts on most of the major/general forums. There is also a stickied topic that lists sets of useful topics as a shorthand of getting around.

Take care.
