Title: Looking to upgrade graphics card
Post by: Leon. on December 16, 2010, 12:07:27 am
Hi there.

Currently, I have a rather crappy Nvidia GeForce FX 5600 Ultra. I'm unable to play the most basic games like America's Army 3 or Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter...
I (think I) have a Asus K8V Deluxe mother board, and (hope) it is compatible with PCI.

I'm looking for a decent graphics card... not too LREROEWOTEWO SUPER DUPER GOOD stuff, but not a total waste of money. I was thinking of moving up to a 6600 GT, maybe 6800 GS or Ultra... Maybe even 7100 or 7200.

I'm on a budget here, so don't even try to go with the 8000 or 9000 generations... let alone the GTX.

I obviously could do the research myself, but graphic cards of older generations are known to be better sometimes than their "new" generations (perfect example is a 6600 vs something in the 7 generation).

Give me some cards (6 generation or higher, no higher than a 7400 or whatever) and their price, please.

I was surprised to see that a GeForce 9500 GT is priced at UNDER $70! Is it worth the dollar? (USD btw)
