Title: GTA:IV
Post by: MrTony on December 16, 2010, 06:54:26 pm
Hey guys,I know I'm kinda late to the game but there,I have GTA:IV for the PC.Well, the game is virtually unplayable because I can't manage my graphic settings. It's either very sh***y graphics and good gameplay or vice versa.I also can reach a medium stage but then it starts tearing, like half textures, black lines and all this crazy stuff.

My system information is the following:
Microsoft Vista
CPU:Intel Core Duo P8600 2.40 Ghz
Ram:3038
Video Card:ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470
And that resource usage thing is like 250 mb.Can I lengthen it?

I'm a noob at hardware so changing them is out of the question since I have a laptop.
Help will be greatly appreciated my dear Argonathians.

Install 1.0.7.0 patch, that really is your only hope.

Check this topic over there, that's where I found it out,it will make your GTA:IV fly as soon as you got sufficient hardware  :) It's part of a whole bunch of command lines but honestly this one does all the thing.

You mean with the command line?Don't put all settings to high,it's not for that,it will just make your game more playable,I added just 250 mb more and it works pretty damn good with the settings to medium, low textures and no shadows.

Are you referring to the BIOS settings?

Hmm,it's strange, how much RAM have you put available?Again,it doesn't work with a lot of RAM available, just a bit up,to make the game more enjoyable.

Jeez, why does it have to be scientific? It's just a freakin' command line, you add it after the shortcut of launchgtaiv.exe and voila.

I might go find the program that Partitions some ram for extra video space if this doesn't work.

It should work,if you wanna make the game playable this should work, don't put it any more like 2.0,it will screw up your PC.Now I used this because I am not really a PC pro,if you know 'em better, try what is best for ya.
