Title: The Resurrection of Argonath Express
Post by: JDC on December 20, 2010, 07:14:33 am
As some of you know, Argonath Express was the Official Journalist Agency of the United States of Argonath known for consistently producing news articles and interviewing prominent figures in Argonath, complete with its own website (http://www.news.argonathrpg.com) and forums (http://www.news.argonathrpg.com/forum). However, it has fallen over time into a state of inactivity due to the lack of time and resources from its Leadership.

After several years of inactivity, I have decided to restore Argonath Express, but I cannot do it alone. Therefore, I am opening key positions that will make it possible to resurrect the once-great Agency.

The goal and agenda of the restored Argonath Express is to serve as the nation's Journalist Agency while providing the civilian populace with jobs that produce decent amounts of income. While we are not hiring staff for every post in the Agency yet, I will need to gather a team in order to assist me in the reorganization.

Currently Open Posts:
Once these positions are filled in, we will begin choosing further staff.

What do I get if I am accepted and carry out the duties?
- Once the reorganization is finished, I will ensure that you are paid decently.

Good day.

The website is under lockdown which I have been unable to remove, there must be a problem with the site's mechanism or a minor error in the hosting, as any attempts by me to take the Joomla site off lockdown are blocked.

The forums are fine though.

So that's why i have to keep logging in...

I can go on and look at it, but I think it automatically turns off everyone's admin privileges, I can't do anything on the website but read the articles and post them.

I know how to take the site off lockdown, and I have the proper access and settings.
However, every time I try to do so, I get an error message.

Things may be delayed, as I accidentally the Argonath Express Forums while getting rid of the numerous amount of spam accounts that have registered, by deleting both Administrator accounts by accident.

I would require the assistance of individuals who can set rights on that forum (Rusty or MorlanV) to retrieve administrative rights, or request the owners to re-boot the forums. The latter sounds more appealing due to the vast amount of archived boards and posts (many of which are now currently irrelevant and years out of date) on the said forums.

Recommendations are still open though, but I could not promise that someone will be accepted.

That's exactly what I'm not capable of... the closest I can do to that is erase everything in the forum and reconstruct it.

Do you have rights to change accounts' ranks to Administrator?

Wait, could you not just ask Gandalf to delete all of the files from the sub domain? Then he provide you with the credentials to manage the sub domain?

Does your rank have access? I was able to self-set my administrator rights after I succeeded Xavas as the CEO.

That is exactly my plan, which is why I need to give the forums a major overhaul. The problem is for some reason, despite having admin rights next only to the Owners', I cannot unlock the Joomla site as some error prevents it.

Good to hear.

Sorry about the way we had to go on it, but we will still have to stay in that position.
Also, as my signature may suggest there is a new community based project that's being worked on right now for the VC:MP community.

Best of luck.
