Yep,you've read correct.Ubisoft creates another game of the Driver-series,and once again, with the main character Tanner, which was seen on Driv3r,Driver Vegas andDriver L.A. Undercover.
Here's a Trailer Video
Driver San Francisco | trailer E3 Ubisoft (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPM_HOGnK0o#ws)
Here a preview of the gameplay:
Driver: San Francisco Demo - E3 2010 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQo4L0WPMK0#ws)
those who are knowing the story of Tanner, think themselves "huh?Wasn't he dead at the end of Driv3r?" .Yes,he was supposed to be,but obviously,Jericho and Tanner have survived and the pursuit continues. But as Tanner had fallen into Coma, most of his actions appear in his mind only. It's really confusing me as well...
As you can see, several cars are licensed(RUF-Porsche,Aston Martin,Pagani Zonda,Alfa Romeo,Dodge, etcetera etcetera)and the game shows alot of abilities.
Especially observed is the new ability called "Shift",which makes you choose any car around you,if you are in need of it.One key is enough to enter this mode. You can upgrade this,so you can choose between cars in a bigger distance.
Basically the Story continues after the incident at Driv3r,where Charles Jericho and Tanner were brought into the Istanbul Hospital. Both of their conditions weren't good at all,so it's quite confusing, how they survived,or what is when happening.Probably you will figure this out by playing the game more and more.Anyhow, they've managed to land at San Francisco.During a big chase at the Golden Gate Bridge(who wouldn't have thought, that the game starts there, omg),Jericho escapes with a stolen police truck.Tanner(Inside a dodge challenger RT) and Jericho crash into eachother head-on,the game starts with Tanner being in coma. That mean's,all the actions, the gameplay, and your controls, are inside Tanners dreams(What the hell,it's only a dream?!)
The game's release is scheduled somewhere between 2nd quarter 2011 and the 1st quarter 2012(wow,not so long, huh) on the PS3,Microsoft Windows(Mac OS X too),the XBOX 360 and some weird thing that calls itself OnLive gaming.
Although the Wii game's storyline is a bit different,i expect that this game'll be another hit for Ubisoft, besides their quintuple fail of the Splinter Cell series.
What do you think ?

I only ever liked Driver 1 the rest were just down-right shit.
If they have infact gone back to the roots then this should be a pretty awesome game.

They indeed said,it's going to be like a flashback of Driver 1 and 2,referring to what,i dont know.
