Hi There Valmiustila!

Not completely sure what the problem is that your facing but I do have an idea or two which should make sure that at least one part of your system is working correctly.

I usually get this issue in Windows 7 / Vista when the playblack and recorded devices are not properly configured. The best way to change this is to go into control panel then find your sounds. Check under your recording settings to find which one is the main one. It should be possible to mute you line in or wave out (thats the one that you get in game sounds from when you dont want it) and instead select your microphone. If you have a plug in microphone then you should find it listed in Line In. Otherwise make sure you select the right device!

Good Luck & Happy Gaming!

Choose your microphone as default recording device from the Recording Devices. (Not sure is it in Vista, but in Win7 it is so)
