Title: Cable Routing Makes A Huge Difference To Temps
Post by: Roadkill on December 31, 2010, 06:56:33 pm
I purchased a new case for my old PC so I can sell the PC on eBay because the old case was in a bad state. I cleaned and serviced all of the components and I decided that this time, instead of just plugging the cables in any which way like I usually do, I'd route the cables round the back to hide them. Not only does it look nicer but it's actually lowered my temperatures considerably. As a result it's also a lot quieter. I was given this tip by a friend and that is what I'll do from now on...

Well obviously it lowers the temperatures as there aren't any obstacles on the airflow slowing it down.

At first I couldn't be bothered and didn't think it would make much of a difference, maybe a couple of degrees but it actually makes quite a considerable difference.
