Title: Motherboard - USB Problem.
Post by: Duel on January 04, 2011, 10:01:19 am
Alright, While I was on holiday my mom was using my PC for her facebook games, The PC was unplugged so she pulled out the PC, Which then my WiFi got hooked on the desk and fucked up my USB ports, I bought a new case (comes with USB ports) and I hooked everything up etc, Now I plug in any USB device and it gives power to it, But does NOT pick it up in Windows or Linux, My friend suggested that when the USB ports broke, It might have shorted and fucked up my motherboard.. Is this possible?
Can I have your opinions, Like. Do I have to buy a new motherboard?

Im using my family PC till I can try get my one sorted out.

I would realy appreciate it if you help me..

Regards,
Rodrico Lastres.

Yes, it is possible. Try using the motherboard USB -ports if they work.

Re-install the motherboard's drivers. If they don't work, I assume the USB controllers (chips) are busted.
