Title: Argonath RPG forums for non-english communities
Post by: Aragorn on January 04, 2011, 05:47:49 pm: I am putting here an idea of making the several small forums related to Argonath RPG community but on different languages...
With the son-domains like nl.argonathrpg.com or rus.argonathrpg.com
Where the players can have some discussions on native languages...

That does not mean the forums will be copied, just some addon for community to have more help and funny discussions not really related only to samp...

Post by: Leon. on January 05, 2011, 01:43:42 am: The player who spoke no English that stayed on here the longest was some French guy whose name I cannot seem to remember, but what I do remember was that people loved to say Frank Hawk worshiped him. He only stayed for an absolute maximum of a month, but that was because Frank Hawk's patience and devotion towards him really drove him forward.

That said, there would be no use for those. Nobody who doesn't speak English stays on the server for more than a few hours, with a few exceptions. Why would they even take the time to register on some forum nobody else goes to or posts on?

I really do not have any problem with them being added, seeing as they do not affect me in any way. I'm just looking at this from an objective critic's point of view.

You could also put willing people in charge for the boards (moderators) who speak the same language as the board has, but if you have things planned go ahead.

I think the countries which you can see on the site where most players come from.

I support this Idea it would be fun :D

Well, the bigger this forum gets, the slower it gets I think.
What's the problem with a different site? you won't get bothered because of the other language topics in your unread replies and when you try to find some thing in the index here you don't have to scroll down for 10 minutes ;)

Aragorn, if you do make it everyone who asks for it and doesn't get it will be upset.

Aragorn, make 1 board only.

Main / suggested trial languages (other then English):
Arabic
Hebrew
French
Spanish
Dutch
Portuguese
Russian
Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi ( One forum - no politics about India vs Pakistan etc)
Croation, Serbian, etc (One forum - no politics)

Although I like the idea, I am concerned it'd be sort of splitting up the community, after all Argonath is a world of its own, not separate within another.

Have boards for each language on one forum, can all be controlled from one spot. Languages would be decided based on the number of recommendations for that language by the people who speak it.

Only issue we could see would be people who used the language as a vehicle to flame and troll without being noticed. So moderators from that language would be required.

Great idea though.

If other languages want secret areas where they can just talk amongst themselves so nobody else can read then why not an area for British people? There is just as much reason.

Everyone in this Community don't have English as their "main language" but is still capable of using it.

Why do they need a private forum? Why do they wish to isolate themselves?
You need to know english to play Argonath anyway.
