That's the date that most people agreed to, Ofcourse no one knows the EXACT date that Jesus Christ was born on.

Depends where you're coming from. While Catholics and other "western" Christians use Gregorian calendar to distinguish religious festivities (by which Christmas is on 25th December), Orthodox Christians use the Julian calendar, which is offset from Gregorian one by roughly two weeks.
What people are saying is "merry Christmas" in their own languages - Russian, Serbian, Greek etc.
-
You forgot about Poland , there are also plenty of orthodox people ;)

If you would bother to look further as your own perception, you would know that Orthodox Christmas follows the Orthodox calendar, which means both Christmas and New Year are celebrated 14 days later.
This is one of the reasons why in Russia and many other countries festivities start at December 25 and last until Chinese New Year, making the winter a lot more fun as sitting inside trying not to freeze.
Merry Orthodox Christmas.
-
Although I celebrate in accordance with the traditionally held dates by the west, I am not bound by any religous denomination.
Merry Orthodox Christmas! :D
-
Don't know anything about it, Gandalf. Never ever hear of "Orthodox" christmas before.
-
That's odd... your country is not far from a predominantly orthodox area.
-
Merry Orthodox Christmas!
-
You touched my soul with that "Romanian" :D
Well, merry Christmas even if its 10 Jan xD
