Title: IV:MP Horribly bad quality.
Post by: JayCalian on January 10, 2011, 05:01:01 pm
Hey. I got GTA IV today. I installed the latest patch (1.0.7.0 or something) and downloaded IV:MP. When I join the game , objects load slowly and no Anti Aliasing. Does anyone know how to fix this? First version of GTA IV had Anti Aliasing.

GTA IV never have any kind of AA (only some mods), slowly objects loading is half IV:MP and half your PC fault. You can tell us your specs?

How do I get my Specs? With first version of IV , the objects were loading fast. And with the first version I had a option to turn on Anti Aliasing. (Max was 16)

You can check your specs in Device Manager, and i think you are talking about Anisotropic filtering not Anti-Aliasing

No I am talking about Anti Aliasing. Anti Aliasing is the option wich makes objects smoother.

GTA IV does not support AA. You can try forcing it tho.

Here's what you should do.

1- Add a text file called commandline.txt ( make sure it's not in caps ) in your GTA IV Directory.
2- Inside it, type in "-noprecache" ( without the " " )
3- Save it, and exit.

If that doesn't work for you, just remove the file.
And btw, if you are able to find a way that makes your computer process the game as software instead of hardware, try doing that. I did, and it gave me a huge increase in performance.

Set the Draw distance higher on your graphics settings in GTA 4. Also, set the render quality higher and the texture quality higher
