Please share how Argonath SA:MP has made some sort of change, influence, or realization in your life!
Serious answers would be very much appreciated. No smart-ass or stupid posts, please.
How has Argonath influenced my life? It's taught me a sense if community, dignity, and friendship that carries out all the way to my personal life.

That makes no sense in relation to the theme of this topic.

Well, it actually taught me not to trust anyone, by being scammed :p

It brought me allot of fun, I made some new friends and my English became better as i am using it daily.
It also gave me self-reliance since i've seen allot of people behaving like a dick and it's nice to compare that you are not like that.
Damn, This is my fourth year.. Time goes damn fast. There's one big thing that i've learned;
There's a train running and you need to catch it. If you miss the train then it's hard to get back on the rails.
Think about that sentence and compare it to your own life.
-
Argonath taught me that life has many tricks up it's sleeve. It also gave me a stone to carry on the shoulders. That stone is called Responsibility.
-
Well, administration work requires patience to help people and answer their questions.. it kinda affected my way of dealing with customers at my job.
-
It just... didn't happen...
-
I became a lot more mature in real life on the time I was a moderator.
It gave me more patience and helped me to think before doing things.
Since I am not moderator anymore, I learned some couple of things to just be happy on the way you are.
-
I learned that life isn't fair and that personal merit has almost no effect on overall success when compared to your actions, fake or otherwise.
-
Changed me, got some of my ADHD gone = More patience, more thoughts before decision.. No more hyper-active like a mini-bully in real.. Changed the way I speak to people..and I've got way more friends now :).
Learned me to recognize who are the real friends and who the fake ones.. (Those who asked me for money in past when they were 'best friends' and later don't even remember my name)
And to hate trolls and the people who chase likes to call Attention-Whores (Attention Seekers)
-
I thaught me 'english' languege, how to have friends.., be patient and mature ;)
-
Due to Argonath, I failed in step A in school.
-
argonath in a sense helped me care less or be less serious about life. just really laugh about everything or things that dont really matter that people tend to take seriously. Leon i guess in a way you were part of this also :ASSKISS: :ASSKISS: (Promote me from lolfish of metal plz)
-
Well gave me a job in real life (showing my Argonath documents I made as examples). I also learned to exercise my language more and therefore use a variety of words. Lastly, I learned that in all fun and games, real life comes first. No matter what.
-
I started to bunnyhop to run faster.
-
I can speak English with all kinds of fancy words now :D
And I"m failing on school.
-
Learnt about how some things like Cops and FBI actually work in real life better =p
-
It taught me how to be more patient, respectful and being friendly =)
but mostly, taught me how to speak English! Internet ftw
-
With Argonath my english language control has increased very well, I know how to use forum codes now and what being a game administrator is like
-
Hello.
Argonath has influenced my life with alot of good things. For first, my English has become better than ever. I have learned to respect everyone, origin doesn't matter. Behave and be polite to everyone, stay mature in every situation, how bad is it. To obey some simple rules that actually applies in real life without we're thinking about. To believe more in myself and others. And to help others.
And for the last, patient. As many great Argonathians have stated "Patient is the key to success".
Murtaugh
-
It helped increasing my English, being patience and more mature :)
-
All the things that the above mates said :D
-
I've achieved good grades in my English subject.
Of course, I did get an A+ in my final examination.
Thank you Violet/Wash. You grammar nazis.
Oh and I've also learned to respect everyone, no matter who they are.
Argonath had taught me alot of lessons.
-
Argonath increased my English knowledge , but I still kinda fail at it :p.
I kinda ended up hanging out less with people around me , but beh . In Argonath I made many friends I trust and that I can talk to . I have also found a twin from another mother!
-
its fun! :)
-
good english grades
-
SA:MP taught me
- that there can be more moneyhungry people than i thought .. way more
- how to face idiots bullshitting on someone.
- that life waits outside the door and you don't need to waste 13 of your 18 (average) hours
Isn't this nice?much worse than a usual teacher.
-
Argonath taught me:
- Noobs don't exist.
- Scripting (Yeah! Argonath motivated me to learn that stuff!)
- Argonath is based of Lord of the Rings.
-
Taught me trolling and how to be mature at times.
-
Taught me trolling
yo dawg people don't teach that shit
-
yo dawg people don't teach that shit
trollin's an art
Daco tried to teach me. but he only gave some hints.
-
Although indirectly, it taught me to hate black people and that the word "negro" (or the many alternatives) is a derogatory term for anyone who does something bad or wrong.
-
Adding on,
It made me feel better for myself, knowing that I can spread to the world, to "care less," and have a laugh about it later. I set a perfect example for people with what to do when being insulted or confronted with a difficult situation, such as:
A lovely "fuck you" is thrown at me. I'll usually respond with "How hard," "k," or "lol."
I've even helped some admins get out of "UMAD" situations! The ones I know well (i.e., the ones that won't punish me for attempting to create lols) will often be given a prescription of lulz when they're in a shit mood!
It always makes me feel better knowing that I can spread my ability to push off the most difficult parts of life. I hope others may see me as an example.
-
Taught me whenever a cop pulls me over to leave the car in gear and slowly lurch toward a carbomb shop.
-
The only thing that has actually influenced my real life from Argonath is SWAT. My english went up to a perfect 5/5 (in theory, in reality it's 3/5 which is a pretty abysmal grade over here) and I have been heavily influenced by some of the members of the old SWAT team, meaning I fuck around a lot when the situation doesn't require the utmost discipline and nerves of steel. It also gave me a giant push to work on my physique in order to professionally serve in the army once I graduate from school.
-
it b helpt me in englishes so i at 5/5 nao, perfects...
-
I will not go into details, they are elsewhere, but it changed me in both good and bad reasons.
-
After these years on Argonath. I've actually grown as a person.
My maturity has raised a lot, also my English. I've noticed that people are more sneaky than you actually believe sometimes. What you believe is close friends can turn the back on you when you don't expect it at all. I've met and talked to people all around the world, making some connections when it comes to jobs and help in real life. I've also found some incredibly good friends by playing here. Meaning that Argonath has influenced me a lot.
I can only thank the whole server some great years.
Especially a big thank you to the developers and the server owners for letting me continue my role-play and chances to develop into a better person after some rough mistakes from my side.
Love, peace and respect from my side.
Thanks.

Racist people are f***ing retarded! :war:   :hah:
-
Thanks to ArgonathRPG, when I go airsofting I start to RP an incompetent guard just to entertain myself. Usually involving walking around the most obvious roads whilst singing a song then diving into a bush when I get shot at, laughing.
I have met some good friends on Argonath, and met Karl when he came to the UK from Estonia, which would not have happened.
Although mainly Argonath is quite a negative thing for me. Although it is a indulgence it takes up a lot of time that I think would be better spent on personal development, socialising amongst other things. It's just about finding the balance though. Usually I find my balance when I am classed as "inactive"
Also it made me barking mad.
-
Argonath helped me to improve my English and I have been learning lot's of new words everyday since I use the internet translator when I see few unknown words that I don't know. Also Argonath helped me to be more patient since every time I apply an application on a website that related to a game which is Argonath server, I have to wait for the results, and there is another reasons It helped me to be patient. Also it changed my character to a mature guy and also it opened my eyes on the world and even all these good things, It isolated me of the real world and since I started to play on Argonath, I failed at school and became a bad student but In this vacation, I will try to play less hours on Argonath and to be more active in real life but that doesn't mean I wasn't active in real life.
it b helpt me in englishes so i at 5/5 nao, perfects...
LMAO !
-
Argonath SA:MP is pretty much a version of the real world, although it is much, much easier to get at both the good and the bad than it is in real life.
I attained better teamwork and leadership skills.
-
Taught me how to spell out the word "L-O-L" in real life. :poke:
-
Argonath has influenced me in good ways.It has increased my English language knowledge, taught me how to be more mature and how to be friendly. :devroll:
-
I have to say, Argonath has influenced me both in a bad way, and good way, depending.
When I was applying for FBI, both MTA:VC and SA:MP at the same time, I learned how to be more controlling of my language (cursing), and that Paitence is a virtue that every person should have to make it far day by day. I've also learned a good value of Teamwork, Friendship and Intergrity.
In a bad sense, it also taught me that life isn't worth waiting for, that you have to go out and grab it when you want it. Things are always going, so if you're not than its nothing worth doing anymore.
After I left FBI, was the worst impact on my life, because, as we ALL know, I probably lost a good hand of friends - but, loosing the friends never hurt me; I came on this server with no friends, gained friends on this server, and then left this server with probably a small handful of people I could trust, today, and even then I don't trust anybody. After I left FBI, there was this bad vibe I got from several people, especially with the way they were treating me I learned that I had a low span for people being an asshole to me. I've went many nights crying, because someone has overly reacted, or just attacked me in a way that was never worth it.
Anyway, and now that I've left the Argonath SA:MP server, most likely forever, I've realised that nobody can hurt me but the people I trusted the most. So, I guess, in all; I learned the following:
- People you trusted once are people you can't trust forever.
- Friends are only friends until you make one mistake.
- Teamwork is to only be trusted with the people you know will have your back in the future.
- Taking a break will make you realise the people you knew, are not the people you will know in the future.
- Leaving one thing in your life, will always make a new life.
- Friendship is only granted to those who can be trusted, and return trust.
-
In many ways it has made be stronger as a person, helping me somewhat on how to talk to people in the real world on the streets making some cash yaaa boi :) fer sho niggas really has lol but really.
- I have realized how much I do and do not need to play on the server to enjoy my life
- It is fun to log on and chat with buddies, meet strangers and have a blast doing whatever.
- Its not fun when I mess myself up and start killing too hardcore on cops and get banned for such a shitty reason.
- Some admins here, balls are too big, panties in a bunch, pull out their banhammas too damn fast, anyone can agree?
but yes, it has influenced my life in some form or another.
-
Yea, improove my english knowledge may be the single influence.
-
Every time I see a Fighter Plane, I burst into song singing Highway to the Dangerzone and start laughing hysterically.
-
I cant look at a fighter jet without pissing myself laughing, and my friends all think I'm a retard because I keep trying to fly about and shoot people with my rp missiles.
-
I can't look at flight planes without waiting to see JDC jump out of it, or seeing it explode
-
I can't look at flight planes without waiting to see JDC jump out of it, or seeing it explode
SA:MP is EXACTLY like my life, i shoot random people and run over people by accident and lose connection randomly :D
the above is a metaphor :D

Increased my skills in Photoshop & changed my views upon managing people.

Argonath has made it much easier for me to get some nice grades (mostly A's) during English classes and papers :).
-
1. Dedicate alarge sum of your time to something you enjoy just to have others abuse and walk all over it. I still play the Game regardless what happens and what other people think, I love playing on Argonath and I have Fun doing it thats what counts.
2. Becareful who you Trust, IG obviously you can't be ripped off because of the way "Trading or Sending Commands" are. However in real life If someone ever tried to rip me off I'd beat there face in with a Shovel. So to Scammers who get a kick off that shit, be lucky your playing a Game. Anyways point being is I Trust no one while making ING deals, if you want something from me, Cash First.
3. Respect, it's very important to treat everbody with the same ammount of Respect, weather they be Admin or Players. We are all like and we are all Equal. Treat others the way you want to be treated, you'll enjoy IG & Forums alot more.
4. ESRB = Entertainment Software Rating Board, who gives s ahit about these Guys, some of Argonaths players are under the required age limit to play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Everybody of all Ages can play Videogames, anybody can be a Gamer, Games are fun for everybody to enjoy.
5. Stupid People, out or Respect I keep names Private to protect the Public of this Community. There are alot of Idiots in ANY community and unfortunetly we can't really do much besides either Ignore them, Report them, or fill em full of holes and drive the Corpse out to the Fire Pitt in the Desert. :D
The other day, I entered a Groccery Store, first thing I said to the Greeter when I entered was, NO ENTRY FEE THANK GOD! I swear she wanted to call the Looney Bin on me. I think that SA:MP has an impact and effect on every one weather they realize it or not. After all they game has to effect us in some way or else we would'nt play it. There are some days that when I log on to Argonath it feels like the best thing ever, because I'm arriving somewhere where I am Welcome and where my IG Buddies are!
-
Argonath RPG has improved my grammar alot. Before I used phrases like 'u', 'y' which I believe made me look that I am not serious. I also noticed my grades moved up since I have been learning different words which replace simple ones therefore it gives me high marks.
-
All the long arguing in SAMP Ideas board has actually helped me with my essay writing skills IRL.
-
Learned English and got my grades up.
-
Argonath helped me getting out of the closet.
-

Argonath helped me getting out of the closet.
Why the fuck would you tell anyone you're gay? What do you gain from it?
Do you have a boyfriend? If so I can understand.
-
Argonath ( special induviduals here extra ) helped me get top grades in English.
-
You're gay?
Nah just his father put him in the closet with his laptop and locked it from outside. Then aksel logged into Argonath and some people gave him advice how to picklock so he would get out.
-
Takes a lot of my time, which I would never regret since the people I meet here are becoming good friends, even in an online community. Other then that, I just like this community, been with it for almost two years and always enjoyed.
-
Stopped using abbreviated speech to talk on the internet :D
I now use phrases such as 'Doing a Tai' in real life
I now say 'lol', which some people think is weird :(
Realised that I should not be a cop in real life, because I do not respawn
And Finally: Messing with Crime Familys does not pay :D
-
ya'll mad
-
Taught me whenever a cop pulls me over to leave the car in gear and slowly lurch toward a carbomb shop.
LOL
Best one here so far.
-
I was a crack cocaine addict for 56 years.
-
Hmm, what argonath learnt me right? Okey....
1.First of all, my english are a lot better since I joined Argonath.
2.If a cop pulls you over you should stop, since if you die you can't respawn like in game.
3.I also got more friends, I behave better than i used to.
4.I learnt not to trust anybody because they can scam or fool you.
5.I became a more responsible person, and I learnt to understand people's feelings if they are in a bad mood.
All in all argonath tough me a lot of things and will tough me more.... ;)
-
I got top grades in English, thanks Argonath.
I got less real life friends, thanks Argonath.
I got more friends on my virtual corner, thanks Argonath.
