Title: Who do you Admire and why?
Post by: SafetyMoose on January 20, 2011, 10:50:43 pm
Post a person who has influenced you in a positive way and who you look up to or admire. Can be living or dead. also state why.

Steve Irwin

For those of you who don't know or are too young to know, Steve Irwin was famous for his show on Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.  I grew up watching this guy and he showed me that as long as you enjoy your professional, it does not matter about the money, His show was my favorite on TV and his death was the most tragic death i can remember. Along with his movie, his world tour and the many seasons on TV, he entertained and taught us about the world in a way never before seen.

Douglas Adams
Made me start reading novels again.
He wrote the best novels I've ever read.
Also I like his essays and stuff.
His views on life, universe and everthing.
He really inspired me in life.
Shame he died so early :(

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi(Mahatma Gandhi)

A great leader and pretty much a great mind which brought all together,he believed that unless all people come together freedom cant be achieved and the same way i feel about the current India, unless every citizen contributes we cant become number one.
He taught me some lessons and values about non violence which i furthur made into my own way like when someone bullies me or pissed me off i just ignore them like they never existed, they get pissed off and walk away.

Walter Disney and Mark Zuckerberg.

Both had a dream, both worked on it, both became successful. And they went from being nothing to being huge.

A good role model for everyone I say.

Tupac Amaru Shakur
(http://fjoompan.blogg.se/images/2009/tupac-2pac-one-nation_45603593.jpg)
Why: With incredible deep lyrics and a great outlook on life. His songs/stories helped me through a lot. I got one of his quotes on my ribs.
"Through every dark night, there's a bright day after that. So no matter how hard it gets, stick your chest out, keep your head up and handle it."

William Shakespeare
(http://mrsthordarson.edublogs.org/files/2010/12/shakespeare-curiosities-chamber1-1tk9hrq.jpg)
Why: Due to his literally amazing books and quotes. He was also the best poet ever, in my opinion.

Peter Forsberg
(http://www3.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/Olympics+Day+16+Ice+Hockey+KaaBlkV_Qpel.jpg)
Why: Forsberg has been fighting against all the injuries for the last four or five years. Continuously, he returns to attempt to make a comeback. Last year he came back from another operation, played in Sweden in Elitserien with MoDo, he also played for Sweden in the World Cup 2010. After being away from hockey for almost a year again, he decided to try his luck with Colorado Avalanche, his second NHL club he played with. It was also where he had his glory years. I wonder if he will succeed or not - He's worth it.

John D. Rockefeller

Financial genius. Even though creating a monopoly, this man literally started from rags and went to riches. Still, by this date, he was the wealthiest American.

Andrew Carnegie

Another financial genius. This man also had a good aspect of his life. He truly was a philanthropist.
