Title: Career thread.
Post by: Aksel on January 27, 2011, 10:48:06 pm
So yeah, As most of us are starting to grow older and are thinking of a carreer to get a living out of, I guess this might be for some help. Let's share some ideas with each other and you may also share your dreams with us.

For myself, I am going to secondary school in a few months. The first year will be as electician and the second and third will be for automatician (Industrial version of electrician. Like an electrician +). It goes like this:

10 years in general school -> three years in secondary school -> two years as apprentice = Eletrician on the paper.

I am going to go two years on the university to get a bachelor in engineering too. :)

So yeah, speak out!

I am just telling one thing to you people, dont go down the "1%er" biker lifestyle, in the beggining its a real PITA. They wake you up in 2 o'clock in the night, ask you to go and clean the bar, you have to do it. About future career, well I see myself as a steady rider, hope I manage to work myself in a band, just manage to keep myself floating. What do you guys think of your future?

Good topic Aksel :)

I'm going to study cinema & television.
I want to be a movie director, I know it's hard, but at least I'll try.
I can draw comics, also I want to write books too. Well, whatever I do, It's gonna be about art.

If that doesn't work out, I'll be a LUMBERJACK.

I already run a small hosting company online, but Im interested in going into Web Design or some form of design job, that or IT.

I've been offered two jobs in the states, training and so on would be paid for, the jobs are both based around technology and diving.

newsflash: you suck at it, choose another profession
no offense

I'm most likely not even going to study at a college/university. I'm doing my mandatory army service as soon as I graduate, followed by me enlisting in army as a full-time non-commissioned officer.

All I'm hoping for now is a war breaking out in a few years.

Why? Basically after your mandatory 9 months if you still want to be a soldier you pretty much have the opportunity to wander around the beautiful country of Afghanistan in no time at all.

TOP 3 career's.

Football Player -

I'm just.. great and thats just my own opinion. I've recently been scouted by Fulham FC. Seems that I've got quite alot of potential to become a top class midfielder. Oh god I wish I had my tape recorder when he said that.

Engineer -
Simple, if Football fails I will look towards this field. I love cars.. anything with an engine. I love talking about it, mainting them... everything. If I get to become a Engineer, I would love to open my own garage.

CEO of a gaming company -
Again, if that fails. Reason I want this because I know that as I grow older I will have to quit gaming altogether. So I can still have something linked to gaming... and this is the highest paying job.

There is one thing thats bugging me..
Many of my family members call me Business Minded, and I am an exact replica of my Granddad. I look like him when he was younger.. I got the ''brain''(?) like him.. financially.

So, I got quite a wide choice of career for me. Most likely is Football player due to I actually play it everyday regardless of the envirnment around me.. raining anything. I just love it. Also, could be departing from UK and in the other country Football is not so popular so theres an advantage of becoming a pro player quicker.

No you won't. The reason that your parents don't play games is that they didn't have computers and playstations and stuff when they were younger so they don't know how to play or if it's fun.

Fair play, but regardless... I wont be able to play alot. I got to worry about my children/tax/car/bills etcc.

My plan goes like this:

I am now attending medical high-school, first year of four. My title would be something between Lab Technician and phlebotomist. After that I plan to study History, teachers direction. If everything goes well, I would like to teach History in schools. If I succede, I would like to specialize in Weaponry, tactics and warfare from 1500. B.C to 1800 A.D. This would be a dream come true.

Well, I am thinking of being a Estate Agent. But I'm still dreaming of becoming a famous DJ since I got the contacts all through Gothenburg, which can lead me out in the Europe and over to United States. I also want to have security guard qualifications. Also to work around the clubs and hang out with people, also beat some junkies down.
