Title: Quality crash.
Post by: Dutchy on February 11, 2011, 01:36:00 am
I tried to raise the quality from lowest to around 1024x800 or w/e the one after 800x640. Then my SA:MP automatically crashed, I tried to rejoin, it crashed. I tried to start up GTA SA SP, it crashed. I tried deleting the ''GTAUSER.DAT'' thingy to delete the display settings, etc, it crashed.

What to do? :(

You sure you don't got no .dll files missing or anything?
Or just try re-installing the game.

the only reason i can think of is that you have a low amount of RAM. but that usually only happens if you have 384mb or less.
or 512mb, but running a lot of other things

try my gta.set :p i set it to the lowest possible everything
drag and drop it in Documents > SA User files

It happened right after I changed the settings...  *sigh* re-install the game I guess...

Alright, re-installed it. SP works fine, doesn't crash, but now there's ANOTHER problem.

When I start up SA:MP and click on ''connect'' the program freezes and I have to shut it down, it doesn't crash, it just doesn't do anything. :conf:

Anyone?

EDIT: This might help.

When I install SA:MP it shows 2 different errors:

"Error opening file for writing:

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\GTA San Andreas\samp.dll

Click Abort to stop the installation,
Retry to try again, or
Ignore to skip this file.
"

I click ''Ignore'' And after 2 secs this:

"Error opening file for writing:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3dx9_25.dll

Click Abort to stop the installation,
Retry to try again, or
Ignore to skip this file.
"

Then after I click ''Ignore'' again, it installs succesfully, but the same freezing happens...

....? :(
