Hmm...I really do like mods but I am afraid to install them, especially car ones because they may change the handling/speed etc..
Now,I only change the .dff and the .txd file in the gta3.img and to some mods it is evident that other aspects change as well without me changing anything manually. There are those mods that I cannot see that anything else has changed except the texture, but I might be mistaken and maybe there is actually a slight change which I can't see.Is there anything I could do to check if it does not count as a hack besides poking the admins 100 times?

Aslong as you edit only dff and txd there is no way of changing handling. I suggest you use GGMM tool to install car mods, more safer.

Just keep an fresh backup of gta3.img somewhere, that way if you ruin game with mod you can easily go back

if you use the San Andreas Mod Installer (SAMI) you're able to uninstall mods, and restore what you had before it.
ive been using it for years, and it hasn't failed me once. :)

Yup,there is,Dutch Police Car mod made my car fall whenever I steered, another mod made it go uber-fast.I test them on GTA SA Singleplayer first but I can never be sure because there might be something small.

If I didn't do that I 'd be screwed by now.

It has failed me a lot of times before.Sometimes when I uninstall the mods, they don't wanna uninstall for some reason, even if I reinstall the game.I prefer keeping backups.
:ps: Thanks everyone for your help and attention given into this.Any more suggestions would be appreciated.
