Title: Network problem
Post by: Dutchy on February 22, 2011, 07:48:06 pm
Lately, I've been experiencing strange chatlag and desync. When I log in, I start off with chatlag ranging from 3-5 secs. After a while I see people ramming the wall with their car and people that were near me in e.g. Idlewood are still shown in the minimap at e.g. commerce. Still, I am able to see new chat coming in at normal speed, though I am unable to type. I can still drive around, but people around me don't move. It's really weird.

What also happens is continuous desync with mostly shooting and player prediction. When I shoot someone straight in the head, he doesn't lose any HP. After 5 secs, he teleports 20 meters away... I cannot be any use in gangfights, because I can't shoot anyone.

I have a good computer, so that isn't the problem.

Are these things typical and is there an obvious solution for it?

if youre not lagging with other games and apps, and your internet is fine, then it must be a serverside issue.
try again in a few hours and see how its doing

I don't think it's a server problem, because no one else has the problem.

I don't think it's my internet..

Ones PC, yes.

Tried re-installing the game?

It's obviously a network problem.

Well, if it's only on SA:MP, then it might help re-installing.

And do you have lag on every server?

I'll test that out later.
