Title: Idea for the innocent citizen fine
Post by: TheMrPatrick on February 27, 2011, 10:05:50 pm
Please remove this $1000 fine. It is very annoying. When I'm a cop and someone starts to shoot at me and I kill him I get a fine... because he wasn't wanted.

People can just use /report when the police kills them for no reason. This fine is just very annoying.

You earn $200 when killing a suspect and after you have earned some money you get this...

Report for Deathmatching and do not shoot... As long player rulebreaks you should not take any action yourself like shooting as well, especially as sync is bugged like help you can easily evade.

I know all the rules. But the problem is when for example chasing a speeder and he doesnt stop I will try to stop him. When he starts shooting at me and I shoot back and I kill him I get a fine because he wasn't a suspect yet. I also had several fines thanks to lag. I ran someone over who was standing infront of my car while I didnt saw it.

I also had several other RP situations where this happened.

This fine is just annoying and is of no good use. I just makes the money you make with killing or arresting suspects useless. Because after such a "mistake" you lose it all.

It seems logical that you should simply suspect the speeder/shooter and then take action. If the person is an innocent citizen, you should ensure that they are not so before taking action.

That can be hard. When chasing you don't have time for it. When he stops and steps out you also dont have much time for it. Or I will die. And many times I cant read the names. What is the point in this fine?

I agree that the fine could be lowered, to around $100. Currently, it's very hard to see the names (pressing ESC, locating the blip, waiting for the name to appear, ESC, suspecting <-- takes a long time) so that would be fair..

Decreasing it to $100 will be great instead of removing it because if it is removed many can benefit from the free cop duty and kill whoever and whenever they want.

$1000 is fine, lower it any more and people will become careless.

"Oops I ran over a citizen, oh well only $100".

Take responsibility for your actions and use some common sense, if someone shoots at you then take cover, call for backup, and /suspect them.

+1

hAWK, what you said today in server makes me feel you don't like RP much.

And besides, as recommended, you should always patrol with a partner. If you're chasing someone, for an example, your partner would check who the suspect is and /suspect while you drive.
