Title: Special forum codes.
Post by: Reece on March 01, 2011, 10:21:14 pm
Okay, so if you want your image to act as a clickable hyperlink then the code you need to use is:

Code: [Select]

That's it, your URL will be clickable, just link the one in my sig. Hope this helped.

Hi Guys!

Nice helpful tip which I am sure people will enjoy. Don't forget the use of tables if you want to make your image on the left or the right of your text. Instead of underneath or above. To do this you can use table properties such as!

Table starts here with
Code: [Select]

Then we need a table element such as
Code: [Select]

this will create you a nice table with an element Row (element is where the the table starts to set out) then we need

Which is a table data column. This is where you put all your information! don't forget though. We need to chop their heads off at the end when we're done with
Code: [Select]

Now if you want multiple columns which is what We would like when wanting an image with text on the side you need this:
Code: [Select]

Text Here Dont worry if you want extra lines or paragraphs you can put them all in the td and make a nice layout :) Here is your second place holder for your images. Use this for the images on the right :) [/ td][/ tr][/ table]/ tr]
Text Here Dont worry if you want extra lines or paragraphs you can put them all in the td and make a nice layout :) Here is your second place holder for your images. Use this for the images on the right :)

I hope that this helps when designing your forum post and don't be afraid to experiment with the different options that you can do to make your forum posts more professional and look nicer!

Regards, DellStorm

In addition, an index for long topics!

Example:
Index of the Argonath forums:
General Information (#post_generalinfo)
San Andreas Multiplayer (#post_SAMP)
Vice City Multiplayer (#post_VCMP)
Argonath Movies & Pictures (#post_pictures)

General Information
In this part of the forum, you can check the general information of all servers. The server rules, as well as the server IPs, can be found here.
blabla
somemoreblabla
evenmoreblabla

San Andreas Multiplayer
The Argonath server on SA:MP is well known for it's ...
blabla

Vice City Multiplayer
The Argonath server on VC:MP is less developed than the server on SA:MP, but that does not take away you can have fun here.

Argonath Movies & Pictures

Using this codes is not hard, as long as you know how to do whatever you are doing. Let me help you with this!

At first, make up your "index"; make sure you know what you want to put in, as well as the lay-out, as this will not only help you to create the topic faster but will also saves you from editing it each day to remove or add a few bits here and there.
I created the index with various boards on the Argonath forum, such as SA:MP and VC:MP.

To have the window automatically scroll down to the correct header (in this case "San Andreas Multiplayer" and "Vice City Multiplayer"), you will have to use anchors. But first; internal url's!
Add the following code for and behind the title in the index (in this case "San Andreas Multiplayer"):
Code: [Select]
[iurl=#samp]San Andreas Multiplayer[/iurl]It is vital that you don't forget the # and to add a short "tag" behind it. (You can put anything, but it's easier to remember if you name the "tag" close to what the actual title is).

Now, to have it scroll down, you need to put some anchors in your topic. It is advised to anchor only the small header (lower in the topic), to avoid problems.
Add the following code for and behind the header, which is down in the topic (in this case "San Andreas Multiplayer"):
Code: [Select]
[anchor=samp]San Andreas Multiplayer[/anchor]Note that, when using the anchor, you must not put the #!! Also, in case you do not use the same "tag" after 'anchor=' as you put after 'iurl=#', it will not work.

I hope you understand.
Many thanks to Janar for explaining me!
