Title: GTA IV Problem :(
Post by: speedboy on March 09, 2011, 05:45:46 pm: Today I tried to play GTA IV...
Everything worked, untill I made a Burnout with my car. Then the screen stopped, then the sound stopped and the game closes. I rejoined the game and then it happened when I crashed into a car.
Again, first screen stops, then the sound stops, then the game closes and I get back to Desktop. What the hell is going on ? :S

I got:

Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+
2,0GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT

What can I do ? :S

Post by: Neave on March 09, 2011, 07:48:04 pm: GTA IV is very buggy with addons and mods. especially the pursuit/first response mods) i've got the same issue, and so do thousands of other people who mod IV. only "fix" is learning how to get used to it, and be able to restart GTA after every crash

:)

i personally use first response, ELS, and custom models for IV, and tried so many different configurations. but gettings it to be bugfree is nearly (if not) impossible

Because I don't like the Police Cars. I didnt mod any normal cars. Just Cop Cars.

As I said, Police cars + ELS + LCPDFR. Nothing more.

Still, try out Deleting every single mod. And then run it. Worked?
Or have you played before without mods or this issue happens/happened before?

Post by: Max. on March 16, 2011, 01:29:01 pm: as most people are suggesting, you should remove your mods, GTA IV was built on a very unstable engine, it take the slightest issues to set it off, i guess its just the mix of those mods, one of those mods, or any mods at all that has set it off to crash for you.
