Red Steel, Splinter Cell Double Agent... Oh, and believe me, WarioWare's going to be hell of a fun for Wii.
I pick Wii, because it's the only console I can afford along with the 360, and because PS3 is bulky, and because I believe it's the best innovation since Pong.
-
lol i agree, i kinda still dont see why ps3 is so expensive its horrible
-
im getting PS3 ... i saved 800 because i thought it was 800 bucks for the premium .. but it is 1000
-
I will be geting a PS3 but i would rather get a car so i will be waiting
-
id rather get a boat ... but yer
-
lol buy one from black market, the ppl bought from factory and are illegaly sold for 400.
companies make the ps3 with about 400 to make and sell them for 800+
if u package and everything is like 50 bucks and they make like 300 profit
the black market sells cheaper and makes 40 bucks protfit depending on ammount

My USA Wii unit should be here tomorrow, PS3 is turning out to be even more of a failure than everyone predicted, if you read up on it now. For example; http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/20/arts/20game.html?_r=1&oref=slogin (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/20/arts/20game.html?_r=1&oref=slogin)

Nintendo Wii: Playful and fun gaming with games such as Zelda and Super Mario. D)
PS3: Serious gaming with serious graphics with games such as Fifa 07 and Pro Evo Soccer 6.
As I am a serious gamer I prefer the PS3.
I think that if Nintendo are going to focus on fun gaming, then they should not be making consoles, they should be making gaming more portable as they have done with products such as the Game-Boy. Games like Super Mario and Zelda are games to play when you are bored or on the move, where as serious gaming with games such as Fifa 07 need a seriously big TV screen and a serious HD TV screen so that you can get the full gaming expirence . Super Mario and Zelda are dead and burried but are very fun to play on the move and/or when you are bored .

People who play football games and racing games are not AT ALL anything remotely like a 'hardcore gamer'.
Oh, and before you start going off on another nonsensical tangent about Nintendo needing to focus on this and that, just remember which portable console has outsold the PSP at least, what, 3 times over now. For those who don't realise, it's the DS lite. Not the DS, the DS lite which came out several months after the PSP's latest launch in the UK.
If you want to play football games etc. don't be a loser and play them on a console - go out and do it in real life.
Oh, and seeing as this is a 'next gen' topic, it wouldn't hurt to check Wii vs. PS3 sales and pre-order figures either. In sales Wii has sold nearly triple that of the ps3, in preorders it's on the verge of 10x the amount.
PS3 is a total failure, it has tried to copy both 360 and Wii, and came out with something universally recognised as a terrible, terrible machine.
Just to cover my back here - before any ill informed person starts going on about how Nintendo only do 'kiddy' games, check the line-up for wii releases. Just because it's not entirely consisting of racing games and fps games, doesn't mean it doesn't have an adult title range. I mean, even Zelda is much more dark and sinister now.

I love ps3 becuz of the blue ray, imagine how big gta 4 will be? blueray holds i think 20 times more than a average cd (i need info plz)
So instead of 3 cities in san andreas we could have um..
60!!!!! 60 CITIES!!!!
wow
well they wont make 60 but i expect they make like 10 and have a bunch of cars and planes and missions and etc.
oh man i really gotta get one
-
WOOOOWWWWW!!! 60 CITIES!!
Who actually wants that? It's like driving around for 30 minutes to reach some far-away city. Besides, the PS3's memory can't possibly process that much amount of data at a time. You're overhyping Blu-Ray. At best, it's going to improve the graphics with high resolution textures.
-
a blu-ray disk is 28.5GB..
-
20*700mb CD-R disks = 14000mb. Blu-Ray discs vary from 25gb to 200gb (according to Wikipedia, that is, as I'm not that in with all this next-gen stuff, thank god Nintendo's going DVD). The size of the disks allow much more data, of course, but doesn't mean that you're going to get a massive play area in GTA or so.

RedSteel who cares about your opinion if you are going to act like 'I know best' 'Everyone else is wrong' so keep your comments to yourself.
A: I play football games when it is raining and have nothing better to do.
B: Do not tell me to play football outside when I play for Nottingham Forest FC under 21's which soon I will be playing for them professionaly. Another thing never call me a loser without taking a look at yourself. You argue over someones OPINION that makes you the biggest loser there could possibly be. This topic is a discussion topic with peoples OPINIONS there is no need to argue with people as everyone is entitled to their own so do not speak to me, about me or generaly have anything to do with me until you grow up, I only talk to people with a little sense in their brain.
C: I serious gaming meaning playing games seriously not for fun. I play football games seriously and not for fun, I don't know what you do with football games but that's up to you.
D: Nintendo produced the Gamecube that was a total shambles I sold mine it was pathetic. They produced the Gameboys before and the DS after everyone loved it because they are good at portable gaming that is fun. Not serious gaming.
E: The DS sold more than the PSP because it was cheaper and more affordable. Not because it was better than the PSP.
F: More info has been produced about the Wii than the PS3 so you are able to find out more facts so that you can then go and purchase the games and pre-order the products you want.
Just to cover my back here -
This is not a popularity contest. So why are you trying to score popularity points?
-
Sony ripped off Nintendo's idea. If you think Nintendo wasn't aiming for "serious gaming", they are now (atleast).
This is not a popularity contest. So why are you trying to score popularity points?
Excuse me? I see nothing related to "scoring" in his statement that Nintendo's not for "kiddy games". RedSteel did not go all "lol wtf i r teh best i know", but he does know about things. Blu-Ray is quite an pathetic excuse for PS3 to be "good", actually. It's other technical specifics limit it from taking full advantage of it anyways.
I remember having an argument like this about the DS and the PSP in the ab forums, and I came up with the result of asking everybody not to post unless they have researched their technical facts & other facts, so let's do that, please?
-
hey guys im on both sides cos im getting both :)
-
yeah..... :conf:
um did you guys know the ps3 was black?
-
I removed a few of the last posts. If this goes into a straight argument again, I won't allow any more console warring in this topic, and it's just going to be "which are you getting".
Research your technical facts. Ranger, the PS3 (of course) supports any TV, and of course it needs a HDTV compatible TV to show such content (but of course games will have an alternative for ordinary televisions. HDTV isn't that popular outside America yet). Instead, you indirectly claimed that it needs an HDTV TV.
If somebody's going to start a new argument, remember, "Nintendo is only for kiddies" is a bad point. Check out their games list, do you see only "Super Mario and his adventure for *insert-something-here*"? No, almost all 12+ games have been ported to the Gamecube & Wii. And to avoid further technical misnaming, it's "Blu-Ray".

Those who think because Blu-ray holds more data it will mean dramatically bigger games are horribly mistaken.
No developer with any sense would make a game which takes up that much space - I mean, think about the absurd amount of time it'll take. On average, a game worth around 2-5gb takes a year to make everything and get it all finalised for realease, as well as tested for bugs.
A game which used all the space on a blue-ray disc would take an incredible amount of time, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it take longer than the life of the console
(although Sony, in their infinite wisdom, decided that they don't have to make a console for the next gen after PS3, seeing as it won't be out dated....pfft... fools. Putting a console on the market for 10 years!!)
-
So does anyone then think there will be a ps4? or will they stop after that
-
Unless the ps3 fails as bad as the PSP did in terms of sales, there will be a PS4. Just not for a while (a decade or so) as they'll only introduce it once sony decide the PS3's dead and old news. Not when consumers and sales figures say so.
-
i never expected that all this was such huge news. all i expected was them in a office saying, wana make a new playstatio? sure why not. but damn the things they do to get people started

Redsteel, do you remember the time games were on floppy-disks ? At the time we could not possible imagine a game taking up a full CD (650Mb) of disk space.
Right now... DVD.
Blu-ray will be used as well. But probably not until the hardware can produce more life-like environments. In a couple of years games will be like movies with real actors. For this a lot of data space and better hardware specs are needed.
-
The PS3 probably can't possibly take atleast full use of the space, if the Blu-Ray disk' filesize is exceeded due to other limitations within it's hardware.

So your saying, we will use up only a lil of blueray until they find better better and better things to put on it right? and once blueray cant compete with what they have planned thel make ps4 prolly?
-
A couple of years is VERY kind, considering the fact that really and truely, not all that much has changed in the past decade of gaming when it comes to conventional gaming of the playstation family in particular.
Granted those kind of graphics might be possible by the time the ps4's out, but that's not for another 10 years yet.
-
i have just recently played on a wii and i played zelda, my hand feels funny i enjoy the fact its more interactive than ps3 but still there is alot im thinking about
-
woooo!!!! the ps3 cost 3500$ here :money: :money: :money:
-
PS3 of course. Stop moaning in America, they are cheaper than in Britain and came out ages ago. I will have to change my hotmail to ps3freak@hotmail.com or something.
-
woooo!!!! the ps3 cost 3500$ here
No, I think it's more like 350$...
3500$=2619.92€=4252.18CHF=4301.82AUD
In Germany the PS3 costs 599.99€.
--------------------------------------------------------
If I had enought money, I would buy the Wii.
The PS3 is the best one in the moment, but there are no games, which use the full "volume" of the PS3. The best games only take 20% "energy", the console is not busy.
When you buy a PS3, you have to buy a new television, because you can only see more details with the PS3 towards PS2, when you have a televison, which is HD-ready.
600€ is too much. In our shopping-malls the shelves are filled up with PS3,because nobody can buy them,... they are too expensive. And when you buy the console, you only have one controller... no game, no new television... . One game for the PS3 costs about 60-70€.
I don't have such alot of money only for a console! I prefer to buy an Intel Core 2 Duo Quad Q6600...
-
You don't have to buy a new TV for the PS3 my TV isn't HD ready and i can play mine fine..... :trust:
-
The graphics of the PS3 obviously are awesome and beat the Wii up, but you need to have an HDTV to get the most out of it. The main problem with Nintendo consoles is that there's not games for all audiences: yes, most games are designated for younger players (don't get me wrong, adults enjoy them too).
-
Ps3 prices are high at the minute as they are still making up for what they lost in Japan and the USA.For Every one unit sold they lost something like $15 in America. Thats why the price is pretty high, and also they will be lowerred when the components become cheaper.
-
it is 3500$ usd 800$ = 3200$.... in my country and the only reason im getting ps3 is because of mgs 4
