Title: Issue with SA:MP - Skimmer (Seaplane)
Post by: Julio. on April 07, 2011, 08:09:49 pm
Right, went ingame, tried to fly a Skimmer and could not take off from the water, thought nothing of it, casually mentioned it to someone else, they could take off straight away.

I could takeoff using a skimmer before, tried various ways now, only thing I can suggest that perhaps either my keyboard AND joystick are dodgy, or the installation is wrong?

Only 'Mod' I have is a new gta_sa.exe file so I do not need to keep using the disc.

Make sure you haven't edited the buttons. You may have edited up and down arrows. Try flying either a Dodo , Shamal or Nevada. If they work , try getting the original gta_sa.exe and using CD.

Theres no way I have swapped the arrows, since I do not use them.

I use an 'accelerate' button on my Joystick and fly using that, I know it works as I spent my whole life stunting with my shamal

Try it with the arrows.

Hmm I once had trouble too, I think it gets bugged somehow, but I fixed it with a re-install

Game Options > Control Setup > Configuration > Mouse + Keys

use arrows

Please note, I seem to have this problem when swimming as well, my character swims really slowly compared to everyone elses.
Game Options > Control Setup > Configuration > Mouse + Keys

use arrows

I've tried various settings, used joystick on both 'Joypad' and Mouse and keys' and vice versa, nothing works.

I DO have a legal copy of SA, but the disc is that badly scratched that it will not install, I copied the physical files for the game from my brothers computer.

I have that same problem too, slow swimming aswell as when I try use a Skimmer, it takes so long to accelerate and gain speed but never enough to actually take off.
