Right, some of you out there play on Netbooks, not so high specification laptops and computers, and what I'm sure some of you want is to speed up the game, even by a little bit.
This Mainly applies to VC and SA I would say.
Introducing GMA Booster
This is effectively an easy overclocking tool for a small range of Graphics Cards by Intel.
Please bear in Mind, I do not bear any responsibility if this does damage any Hardware, however, I seriously doubt it would harm anything.
How it starts: Intel make their Graphics chips, and for Netbooks etc, they think, hang on a minute, these do not need Graphics performance, and they need Battery Life, so they take the Graphics Card, and they underclock it, slowing it down, this effectively means that these cards can be more than doubled in speed without damaging them, as this is how they were designed.

SAN ANDREAS ONLY BELOW
If you have a really slow PC, download the first link to low res mod, THEN the second.
Found the following Low Resolution Mod Packs for San Andreas on THIS (http://kfcgang.net/index.php?topic=5375.0) topic, contains some instructions.
Standard Low Resolution Pack Link (http://anybodykillas.ucoz.com/randomshit/GTASA_LOWRES_PACK-ABK-.7z)
If you have a very low FPS, download the above Mod Pack AND this one linked below for an even greater FPS Boost.
Lower Quality Particle.txd (http://anybodykillas.ucoz.com/randomshit/particle.txd)
It is relatively simple to understand, the performance boosts can vary, but every little helps eh?
Again, I take no responsibility for any Resultant Hardware/Computer damage, however unlikely it may be.

Overclocking laptops/notebooks is BAD...
They already almost overheat if you keep them on your warm lap for a while.
Laptop clock frequencies are low for a reason.
And that reason is not to save battery life..
-
I put down 'I am not responsible' However, this is actually perhaps the safest overclock you can do, as these cards only come factory underclocked to save battery life.

Aww.... doesnt support Windows XP :(

Can I use it on a Intel GMA 4500 HD? installed into my old computers ASROCK motherboard which uses 2gb ddr3 .

No you cannot, however, I believe the person who created this releases updates and new versions every so often, so maybe in the future there will be one.

Ok, thanks for replying and sorting that out.

Updated the Topic, included the links to a couple of Low Resolution Mods for San Andreas.

Simple: Get 'GameAccelerator'.

Simple: Get 'GameAccelerator'.
Downloaded it and it insisted I download ALL their programs.
From there I actually tried using it and it LOST me 2FPS on my netbook, my solution gained me 10.

If you used the right mode, then sure you would get more FPS

Not worth it for like 2
Anyway, I play on a netbook, theres NO way that the Graphics Card would be improved a huge amount.

Mind helping me? My laptop has gma 965 express chipset family. which mod should i use? I used to play sa at all high settings if i remember right. but now whe i play on it i lag a lot even at low settings. K thanks for helping.

Well, if you played at high settings before it suggests something is wrong with your PC, not necessarily Major though.
Its worth using a program such as 'Defraggler' to defragment your harddrive, this will speed up your Harddrive.
Imagine, one cabinets is split in pieces, each laid next to each other, if you buy a table forr example hen, leave the bits apart, and systematically put them by each other, you are seeing what a harddrive was.
However, if you then want to add something to your table, all he gas are filled, so it has to go next to the table. If you then want to build it, you have to travel furher to get the bits, thus taking longer, same with a Harddrive.
Ensure that your fan is not clogged up with dust etc, as when a Graphics card gets hot, it often slows itself down to ensure it does not overheat.
Short Summary
1. Defragment PC using Defraggler or similar
2. Ensure fan/entrance is clean, relatively dust free.
3. Download the Standard Low Resolution pack as linked in the firs page of this topic, but the appropriate files where they're meant to be, theres a readme that comes with it.
4. Test to see if game has sped up sufficiently, if you are not happy then download the 'Lower quality Particle.txd' link on the first post of topic and put it in the 'models' folder in the San Andreas Directory.
It's important you get steps 3 and 4 in the right order, the game will still work if you don't, but the game wont speed up as effectively.

default windows defragmenting tool is enough to defragment a hard drive

Yes, but apparently it is kind of rubbish. I agree with Julio...defraggler is better.
-
It's a laptop, but will try opening it and cleaning the fan. About the defrag tool, i'll go for a third party tool, since it's windows vista and it's defrag tool makes me impatient. Thanks for the help.

My laptop has gma 965 express chipset family.
My laptop has that as well, its shocking when it comes to gaming.

It is, however I'm pretty much sure i used to play GTA SA with max settings(probably, not sure though) without ANY fps lag. It was all smooth.

Bump :)

If this can still be helpful 12 months on..... then so be it! :D
