Thanks to continuous ban evanding and flaming of a special individual we are blocking a number of BT routes from SA:MP as of right now.
If you can not connect to SA:MP but can to MTA or other services, it means your route is in the blocked areas.
In this case, request your provider a static IP, or a dynamic IP with at least 48 hour lease.
If you are the individual who thinks this was fun, this is what you caused.

wont people learn :(

The decision was not coming suddenly... We were spectating this routes more then for 3-4 months...
As the pricks, who were abusing BT dynamic system thought we'll never block them - they were wRONg...
Also, we checked how much we lose with blocking and how much we win...
And sadly to say, but British Telecom users mostly: flamers, cheaters, hackers, have no idea even what is multiplayer and why people play it...
If you have a blocked route - do NOT demand to unblock it...
Argonath developers will NOT unblock route cos of your ip in it...
Give us your static IPs in private way and this IPs will be unblocked personally...
-
good thing im not BT :D
-
Guys, like Trojan that dont want a Static IP.. it Most likly wont cost any thing to get a Static IP, it doesnt do any harm,
And guys that wanna Play silly buggers... Dont
-
:D Less flamers, hackers and flooders to worry about. Thanks Sauron :)

After being a BT user, i have phoned up bt and this is a quote
Thank you for choosing bt sir, but unfortunnetly we are unable to give you a static ip address due to we have no control over the ip address in are system.
If you wish to have a static ip address you must purchase a business account which is at £40 monthly charge
And you know what i said to the woman. FUCK OFF.
Sir, if you are annoyed by are service we can give you minutes for using the wireless bt openzone.
But sir you are unable to have a static ip adress.
After being with BT for 5 years now, My mum wont let us leave.
Im going to stay to argonath for as long as i can.
And im willing to wait like 48 hours just to play if my ip changes.
Don't belive that some twats that live in my broadband area, got sauron to push the big red ip subnet ban button.
And if i see these twats im going to rip there heads off.
And thats putting it in a nice way.

Watti if you are willing to pay an extra £40 a month plus service charge of £15 a month.
Then you pay for me too. But as you said trojan wont pay.
We do not have control over who our internet service provider is.
Seriously watti research in to how BT looks after the customers.
Don't assume we can get a static ip address becuase you have one.

My main reason for BT is there outstanding service, and that my mum and dad has Bt mobile phone which uses my bt router for free calls when the mobile wifi is activated.
After talking to the manager of telecomuncations at Bt, they said to have a static ip address i must have only a business account. He said sorry for the circumstances
-
We also have dynamic IP...)))))
But the IP is not changing... It can be changed only if our route will be off for 5 days...
I am sure BT also has such option...
Or at least if the route off for 24-48 hours...
If IP changed - inform...
Actually there are not much gamers from BT... more then 80% are pricks...
Cos as BT is dynamic, users think they are unpunished...
Well... for any server, but not our...
-
Wazza, for static IP I can understand. But right now BT does not have what is called a 'lease' on the IP. This means that when a router loses connection, the IP is going back in to the pool of available IP's.
In Holland and other countries providers (and even network managers inside a company) use a 'lease time'. This means for instance that the company's IP is dynamic, but it will stay reserved for 72 hours if there is disconnection. Our company IP has not changed for over a year, even with power-outs and service, although it is classified 'dynamic'.
BT could very easily put a lease time, but it would need some extra server and router capacity for them, as disconnected IP's would not be going back in to the free pool that quickly. This is for them only a disadvantage if they stil use a large number of dial-up connections. When the main amount of connections is (A)DSL or Cable, it wil actually only benefit. Even a lease time on the IP of 4 hours would mean a big drop in ban-evading and cheating, as most guys will not want to wait 4 hours to evade.

Is my ip static?
I joined MTA server with 0 problems so my IP might be static
:conf:
-
Go to whatsmyip.com and check, Restart PC and check again... If its changed, you are on Dynamic NET connection.
-
aww crud i just special orderd SA so i can go on server but i think my ip is not static but it changes everytime i lose connection or turn it off so i guess i wont be on SA
-
Sirrich, They are blocking only BT routes. As from i understand, you are from USA.
-
yay but whuts a bt route?
-
BT - British Telecom - Only in UK
If you have BT, your access to Argonath RPG server will be blocked. It means:
British telecom IP basic:
322.xxx.xxx.xxx (maybe)
So the "322" will be blocked, which is the main "route" for BT.
If it is blocked from Argonath and you have BT, you can NOT access Argonath servers.
Now, if you want to play in Argonath as a BT user, be sure you have the Static IP.
1) Go www.whatsmyip.com and check your IP Address, write it up
2) Now restart your modem
3) Then check www.whatsmyip.com and check your IP Address
If they are same,
AKA you got ip 992.292.615.133 from the first check and from the second you get 992.292.666.133, You have DYNAMIC IP
AKA you got ip 992.292.615.133 from the first check and from the second you get 992.292.615.133, You have STATIC IP
(Well, there are easier ways for it.)
Sirrich, you are American and you dont have the BT connection, so you can always play
-
Glad im not in the BT, glad to have less flamer to worry about ;)
No more ban evading..))))
Thanks to Sauron, the Guardian of... What? World?

I'm on BT, but I was never blocked :/

I came up with a solution and Aragorn said that I have to wait until the server maintenance is over. My idea was to register on http://www.dyndns.com/ and everytime I restarted my router I could then go and update my new IP on DynDNS.

Yeah, and you could set it so your router would auto update it. (If it supports it)
-xcasio :)

Nah, I'm cool thanks. I'll update it every time I restart my router which isn't too often, I have to do it for my radio station anyway and I have no problems with it, all I have to do is go on a website, 2 clicks of a mouse button and It's sorted. :)
