Can someone tell me how to put the tiny flag thing on my whatever it's called :P
(as in where I live)

Profile -> Modify Profile -> Forum Profile -> Select your country

I remember I couldn't figure out how to do this for quite a while. Kept coming up with '00'... made me rage.
