So, Like 2-3 Years ago, I had bought a legal copy of Counter Strike Condition Zero(2CD-Steam). Yesterday while cleaning my room, I found the CDs of which the CD 1 is fucked up(I think it contains the Game Data, Not steam). So, basically I tried a lot to recover it. Keeping it under running water, Wiping it with alcohol. And after a couple of other tries i noticed that, it's upper silver part(Containing the images, don't know it's name lol) has been ruined possibly by dust or any other thing. So, yeah it lost some of its data.
Question is, Is there any other way to get it working?

I am afraid you can't restore the CD if it's broken.

Some stores offer CD repairs for quite cheap, you could try that out.

I did that to my GTA:SA DVD a long time ago. It takes about 10 minutes and it ''cuts off'' the very small surface of the CD with lasers... I think... It works great :)

I doubt my city has one, But i'll try finding a store.

It's not broken but, the silvery part, containing the data. Some of the areas are scratched. So... The data in those parts are missing.

Topic can be locked. I noticed that with the CD Key provided, I can download Steam included- Counter Strike 1.6, Condition Zero and Deleted Scenes. ^.^
So yeah, got back Condition Zero as well as original 1.6 :D lol

Hold on a sec.
I'm currently doing some stuff with my own CD's, cleaning them, resurfacing. Apperantally you can do this with white toothpaste. applying it, waiting 5 minutes ( to dry, depending on what kind of toothpaste you have of course ), removing it, currently waiting for the 5 minutes to end and see if it works..
Ok It didn't do much so i'm trying it again and will wait a little longer with the drying-process.

Well I tried it, and i'm sure it cleans a lot - but you can still see the scratches - however the scratches aren't affecting the audio on the CD as far as i can hear anymore ( they used to a little ) - it's worth a try.

from what youve said, the shiny plastic stuff has come off the top, the problem is, this is what holds the data, there is no way to restore a disk that is broken like that, asside from getting an identicle disk and pasting parts from it back into the correct spots(but that would be stupid, take hours, and if you had an identicle disk you wouldnt fix the broken one), your best bet is to just buy the game again, CS is like $10 here in Australia, plus these days u can buy games from steam

I know Argonath does not encourage piracy and shit, although perhaps this is not piracy technically.
If the disks are that bad, in my opinion, it is not the disk you bought, it is the game and the right to use it.
So in my mind it is then perfectly fine to download the game ;)

With the CB CD Key provided with the game i was able to re-download CZ and 1.6. So no piracy or no need to buy again ;)
