Title: Proposal: New Wanted System

Hi. It came to my concern (again) that whenever i join IVMP server, there are NO CRIMINALS! Reason for that, is if your a criminal today, tomorow you wount be. (SAMP technique)

My proposal is this: Let the criminals stay suspected for as long as they are Jailed or Killed by a cop. BUT!.. The longer the criminal is suspected/wanted by cops, the more his head is worth! That way it will intrest many more policemen to go after that particular bad-ass criminal! That said, the criminal also loses more money for the time being suspected. So the criminals would surrender ASAP to lose the minimum ammount of money. OR! The criminal could gain a little income to compensate some of the money loss that will be lost at some day, and that money could be used for his own safety. i.e. Hire bodyguards to help the criminal escape from the top class, helicopter, noose etc. chase!

All this could be seen as a self building events from time to time, with different prizes.
At the end, the cop that gets all that big ammount of money from that Binladen could be sent to the "highest head who organised the chase" (if exist) and he would split the money evenly, or it could be a 1st prize for 1 person.

Please tell me what do you think of this idea. Maybe improvements could be added.  :cop:

A long long time ago another MTA:VC server has a system where a criminal brought more money if he was wanted on a higher level. So how did people make money ? They fooled around until there was a high-paying criminal, then all went on cop duty to hunt him. Low-paying criminals were not cared about, not chased and jailed only if they came to the station to give up.

Is such a system what you have in mind ?

Lazlow, you should propose this to IV:MP Parallel Universe server because it will be a Cops n' Robbers servers, in Argonath RPG server I don't see how this will help RP.

I see what Gandalf ment.

I know that it comes out as Criminals=Pigs. You grow them before you slother them..
But looking at the current situation when we have NO CRIMINALS.. and so many FBIs now.. i think all cop are completly bored.. And if you say that all  players go to cop duty just for the money, then 2 solutions:

1: Its just like an event.. every day u see some fat pig (big prize on his head) and whoever kills it.. gets the money.. event type..
2: or.. Need to restirct the cop duty a bit.. Do like a cooldown between taking up new jobs.. once u leave a job, you will have to wait 3 days, or 1 week before you can take up another job.. This would be great idea in general.. Couse if i have low health, and my friend is a cop.. he can just leave the cop duty, take up medic, and heal me nearly at free of charge and get back to cop duty.. thats nearly a rule break..  Cooldown would make players to think twice about the job they really want to do. But also, it might be tricky to newcomers.. they can get stuck without knowing all the options...

So this leads to another Proposal: Add cooldowns before you can take up another job.

I would recommend being patient a little bit longer, I know things are a bit boring right now, but once we get back on the server list and a few more bugs are fixed, we will be back to our 25+ players a day.

I'm sure this will include many new cops ready to give you a run for your money.

I like the idea, but Gandalf has a point... people will start abusing that, criminals will surrender only to their friends, so they can share the money, as for the /rhl that also counts down even when a criminal is a offline, thats wrong, /rhl should count down ONLY when the criminal is online.

I see that if that system would not be put in use, RP would continue as normal.. But if it would be in use, players who wouldnt RP, would seriously get suspected, and then hes in trouble, couse he will have to lose money one way or another.. (the hard way he loses more). So from that he will learn that RP would be a wise choice to RP out of the suspection situation..
So on other hand, its forcing RP really...

Even if to stick with that idea, the time limit should be increased to my oppinion, couse by the time they gather a team, hes not a suspect anymore.. and Why would anyone put so mutch effort in gathering a team against the suspect? for lousy $200 to someone?

Dude,main goal of cops is to force a suspect to surrender,not to chase him till death at any cost. With this you're just making this server more likely to samp and i hope we dont want that. You said that there is too much cops,okay,i agree with that,they are bored ? No any force em to be cops,they can switch role and be criminals/suspects also :)

RP does not have a goal like gathering achievements, posessions or kills.
The goal of RP is to interact with others and creat funny or interesting situations.

This system is also used in VCMP. And in our very own RPG server of it.

RP does not have a goal like gathering achievements, posessions or kills.
The goal of RP is to interact with others and creat funny or interesting situations.

Couldn't agree more.

About the idea itself. It is good that you try to change the system where you see something is not working. But I do not support the idea of higher prizes on some sort of gangsters. In my opinion it just makes it competition between criminals to see who is the badass. Now this is not bad idea if it can be made in some other way than killing the cops. Probably would make it intresting to be a criminal if you have to work for your reputation. Just it should be done RP way and that in my opinion should not be limited to any scripted things. Go out there and roleplay it.

Also as pointed out. I believe that if we give bit time for the server it will become active and there will be criminals enough for cops to handle. I do not have any good suggestions at the moment how to change the system for more intresting and I probably won't have before I have seen that it might not be so intresting while we get this server active.

The timer only goes down when the suspect is online....
I rly do not know how u get that conclusion...

i did say it would be rediculous if /rhl counts down when ur offline.
