Title: Mawfakking ping restriction.

Here's the idea:
Ppl with ping over 450 can't participate in any combat/shootouts, maybe even events such as races. Want to go chase criminals or rob a bank? Reduce ping first. If you can't, you can still RP tho as long as it doesn't involve shootouts or something.

They can still play. They just can't shoot ppl, or anything lol.
And I got kicked in SAMP for lagging once..hmm, now who might that be

And also I know you're scared about your ping aXXo. That's why I said kick ppl having 450 ping, not 1000!

I don't think this idea is realistic for ''combat only'' or shootout only. How would it work? If you get hit by a bullet and have more than 450 ping you get kicked? What if you're being DMed? Wouldn't the script cause even more lag? Is this really needed?

If you go as a cop while a ping of 2000 and attack someone, or go criminal with ping of 2000 and attack someone, and you get reported, you're asked to reduce your ping. If you won't, you get disarmed/kicked if insisting.

Anyways I see that won't work out, so I'll just go back to enabling torrents to lag for my advantage

I rarely see ping over 200 in VCMP. Neither do I really care about someone's ping, I try to avoid shootouts and if there actually is one, I don't think ping will play a big role in it. You can't reduce your own ping other than getting a more expensive internet connection and closing programs such as bittorrent or utorrent while playing, if your ping is still high after that - so be it. We can't just start kicking people for their ping ; /c crimson

Exactly, you don't know how lag works in shootouts, lol.

And I do experience people who turn on shitload of porn just to have higher ping (so they don't get hit so often while in shootouts)
during what we have now, I have people sliding behind my back when shooting me. I mean, anyone remember tot kill Klaus with a colt 45? he just warped behind his back.

I also have great shootouts with not tot itself, but with his ping. 1060 ping, anyone?

Well, once again, I don't see an issue here.. If you really care this much about shootouts, fighting, lag and ping ; There are games and server dedicated to it. Counterstrike 1.6 for one. Our sister community ParUni has great servers.

The only one which ping I am interested in is my own one. Sometimes i check and it's around 46, when looking at other's ping i don't see anything higher than 200. And even if so, I really don't care about someone's ping. We can still roleplay no matter our ping, can't we?

Of course guns have to be used in such roleplays. But ping doesn't really play a role for me in shootouts either.. It's Grand Theft Auto... winning a shoot out is really only about luck in my opinion.

F**k no. It's about teamwork, not getting shot in the head from behind and accuracy of shots. Know how to shoot - victory will come after you.

People above 450 ping cannot play normally at all. Their huge delay will make others think they either crashed or the server crashed. You will have to predict 3 seconds ahead which way they might go which is really nauseating. That's why pings shouldn't be above 400 in general.

Totally against this. Argonath lets and always will let anyone play however they want in the server, as long he follows the rules.

If you apply to staff you can notice that clever people instead of ragers and flamers/rulebreakers are getting accepted. Isn't it discriminating as well? :P

There should be a limit, nuff' said.
Even if it's as high as 600+ ping gets kicked; that still gets rid of some players who's internet cannot function properly.

Unless scripts are affected by the occasional 65535 ping bug; then freeze them until their ping isn't utter crap.
