Title: L.A Noire - Rockstar Star
Post by: Mashgash on May 20, 2011, 04:29:14 am
Hey,

I just noticed a new game made by Team Bondi it's relesed today in Europe and it's called L.A Noire. I don't have much facts about it so I'll link you some pages so you can read about it, I think it seems awesome and I gonna give it a try.

It's not made by Rockstar Games ... they published it.
Team Bondi created it.

It isn't out for PC and don't hold your breathe for it to come on PC either.

As I said, I don't know much about it

It's awesome, a really good detective game. But if you're going to buy it don't expect a GTA in the 1947, it's nothing like it.

Currently working Homicide Cases right now - "The Red Lipstick Murder"
Breezing through the game like a boss got every question right so far though I have missed a few clues on the Traffic Cases but that's about it.

Brilliant game so far but hella repetitive.

I hope it will be released on PC.

This is the main reason as to why I didn't pre-order it and haven't bought it as of yet. I probably will eventually get it, but I just can't stand games that offer you the same apparent 'entertainment' over and over again.

Currently playing, just got it 2 hours ago, I'm on the traffic.

It's kind of repetive, but man, it is nice!

Yeah I was watching a playthrough, sounded much like, get clues. go to gun store, go to guys house, punch him, interrogate. and over and over.

Worse is probably interrogation, miss one little question, re do the fucking thing all over.

Nope.
Actually in all not every case is the same as the last some are straight forward some aren't.
A few I've done so far have involved me in pursuing suspects along a film set roof-top and it ending in a mass gun shoot-out between cops and some mob.  Some have been vehicle chases where your partner tries to shoot out the wheels and you get to watch the suspect vehicle barrel roll down the road mowing down people along the way.

Questioning is the main thing about L.A Noire you have to be able to read facial expressions if you think their lying when their telling the truth then you don't have option to ask it again and could miss vital clues/evidence.  You can restart again but you have to restart the whole case if you choose too which is a pain in the ass.

I'm currently on disc 3 for the 360 and loving it so far the "side" cases are keeping me busy aswell as finding all vehicles and exploring the city.

Not true, that only happens in the first interrogation.

I just finished the last homiced case and got into vice, the game is magnificent.
I don't think it's that repetitive. All cases so far have been quite unique, some more than others.

Yep.
You can roam around if you wish although I have no idea if this affects your case your on (don't think it does).
Respond to dispatch calls or roam and find crimes happening (only encountered 1 so far).

Alot of enterable buildings available (one's with gold door handles) I found a club that uh ... well lets' say has exotic dancers.

So, I've played NON-stop ever since I got it, the cases got interesting and now I'm at the Vice in the Hollywood department.

I feel the story is going to end soon.. Too bad all those games have these short stories.. Even Red Dead Redemtion was a 3 day game..

I bought us yesterday. Awesome game, but boy I hate those questoning parts. I really suck choosing whenever its Truth or Doubt, Lie or Doubt. I end up always getting the wrong answer  :( Is there easier way to regonize when its Doubt,Lie or Truth?

I think you should look up "eye movements" or something on Google.
Because, you know, they made it kinda obvious, you just need to sometimes really read them, so per se, if they look down and right, that means their lying, or something similar.

I clearly see its not a truth, but which one it is then, Doubt ot Lie. I got problems regonising these. Same problems with Truth/Doubt.
I ended up beating the crap out of Jacob xd

Choose "Doubt" if you think/know the person is lying, but you don't have the evidence to prove it. And choose "Lie" if you do have the evidence.

Deathmatcher!

You only have a gun when you're in foot pursuit or in a shootout against criminals, of course.
Other than that, you can't use your gun.

I had this game since a few days ago and I enjoyed it, I'm just pretty bad on questioning them though.
Overall, its worth buying it, I'm currently on disc number two for Xbox 360.

Indeed ...
The cinematic sequence after the credits was a tad confusing.

Ram people's cars when they get out go full throttle at them and they'll die.
I do it to the cops who keep bringing my partner back to me then proceed to jack their vehicle and explore.

Just finished the game as well, quite the interesting twist at the end. The final end clip sort of wraps all the loose pieces together.

Drive around, enter buildings AKA landmarks (just enter them and look at things, no interaction), respond to dispatch calls (mini missions), and ... drive around.
