Hi Argo,
Past weeks Argo started lagging like hell.
The chatbox is VERY VERY laggy, when i type something it takes like 3 seconds to appear, or when trying to see the main chat.
While driving a car i simply hit something that doesn't exists, when somebody is driving me I am falling from the car/bike.
Is there anyway to fix this ?

Yes , buy a new internet .

Yes , buy a new internet .
I have experienced it also, so it's may not be his Internet. My Internet is perfectly fine and sometimes I experience delay.
-
My internet is just fine, lags to german server are not more than 50, lags to Argo and ParUni are not more that 50.

Try the following -
GTA:SA Display Settings
Draw Distance - Minimum
Frame Limiter - On (needed for /fpslimit to work)
Visual FX Quality - Low
Anti Aliasing - Off
Resolution - As low as possible, at 16 bit
/fpslimit
You need to use a program like Fraps, so that you can see your FPS (frames per second) while playing. Basically, evaluate what your FPS averages as during game play, then set /fpslimit to slightly under that number. This is to prevent the lag that occurs when something happens during game play (loading new textures or objects for example), that your computer can't handle at the FPS you were previously on.
Low Quality Mod
The following mod includes some lower quality textures and effects that replace the default ones.
Task Manager Priority
While the game is running, ALT+TAB to your desktop, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open your Task Manager, go to the tab that says Processes, loot for gta_sa.exe, right click on it, choose priority, and set the priority as high as possible. Depending on your computer configuration, setting it as Realtime may sometimes lead to minor issues, such as the sound cutting out from time to time. If you experience said problems, then just set the priority to the level before Realtime.

I have the same problem

I think Rusty's explanation is really good, try that if you experience any lag. But I just experienced delay, no fps drops.
-
Since everybody's noticing it, it has to be the server. I'm having this issue as well.
-
I get about one second delay on a bad day :D
Yeah, Rusty made the best suggestion ;)

Remember there is a difference between broadband connection lag and Frame rate lag. Saying this as people tend to get the two confused. Adjusting settings involving graphics will have no effect on ping on frame rate.
Anyhow if you are experiencing frame rate issues in particular when you have the chat in bold colour, been experienced in Vista and Windows 7 mainly you can go here: http://forum.sa-mp.com/showthread.php?t=250823 (http://forum.sa-mp.com/showthread.php?t=250823) and use the optional samp update which fixes this. Until i found this update i had to continuously press F7 to resolve the issue with the chat each time i joined otherwise it would cause a tremendous frame rate drop.
Back to the original post in hand, at what times are you experiencing this, does this happen when many players are online?

when i type something it takes like 3 seconds to appear
Lol, it takes me 4-6 seconds... 24/7

That's more than bad.

I downloaded the update of the client, and it seems to be working, thanks Ted.

I tried, nothing has changed, thanks anyway.

I did not experience it awhile ago, although it was "Unholy Hours" or CET Early Mornings.

I keep having D/C in midnight on my time however I don't think this is related at all. If you lag, get a better computer I guess or internet connection. Lag is something we all go through and have to get used to it. If you can't stand SA:MP lag which exists in ALL SA:MP servers then MTA SA is good enough for you.. About the lag chat, yes it is normal that it takes that much, especially when many people talk, it will take a while to see your own chat line. Lag also occurs if you're using texture mods and have a low stream memory.
A tip. Start Task Manager then right click on gta_sa.exe and Set Affinity and check those which are available. If you have a good computer it will run smoothly however you can get problems if have a slow computer and processor.
-
I'm experiencing lag too.
-
After talking in Argo's Facebook group, with some random VC:MP player, he said that VC:MP started lagging like hell. ;)
-
Yup, laggy for me too ^^

And what exactly has that got to do with the internet?
He didn't say FPS lag, it's to do with the internet.
-
You guys keep confusing FPS lag and server lag.
FPS lag is when the whole game seems to slow down and it only occurs to you. Server lag is seen when people seem to jump/teleport around and chat may slow down a little.
-
Argo lags every day here and 1-2 weeks... I have good connection and I am playing another games and I am not lagging... Please try to fx this LAG... I can't shoot players... I can't drive my NRG with someone back... I can't... I can't... I can't... GOD!
And I thought Argonath Addiction was a myth. :)
As for the problem of servers slowing, also remember that MTA:VC became accessible to half its players and FBI Forums, along with other subdomains, crashed earlier this week. It might be connected to these cases.
-
Perhaps I think the lag is with the server hosting too many servers at once. Perhaps, perhaps not.
-

-
Well, I can't tell if it is the server or my new router, however at all times my ping is now over 300+.. and the lag is starting to get on my nerves.. while a month ago it was normally on 95-115~..

My ping is no more than 50..
And i still have the fucking lags.
-
Argo is lagging Every 10 seconds ... No one can have passenger in his bike because of the lag :S... And its not our own fault because of the lag... Like "man change your router" "delete your mods please"
-
Lol when you and me drove in my Comet, You started to lose HP really fast, And then u almost died because of my lag/Your lag..
-
My friend when is driving on my bike is dieing in 10 seconds :)
-
I dunno, this might be strange, but I played on about 6 hours with different settings then it never stuttered nor lagged again.
