Title: /deactivate

-Idea:
All STATE cars are deactivated.

Enter a car.

quick message: car activated (or no message and car gets activated)

drive drive drive.. want to park it there for long

/deactivate (ejects you from car and makes the car deactivated)


Manager says: Hi all, car reset in 10...
/reset activated (resets activated cars only)

state vehicles Spawning position does not get chaged..

Problems:
-If you go with a car in a water, or a pool and do /deactivate before you die and dont inform admins about it.. could lead to a trouble..
-Player /deactivate somewhere nowhere, and hides the car somewhere.. whever.. and forget, or stop playing for long.. no good aswell..
-Server Restart

Proposal solutions:
-Managers Command:/reset deactivated 5 (Resets cars that were deactivated for longer than 5 days)
-Server restart would only be possible to overcar, if /deactivate would be same as /delivercar.. which would just be no good.. so no solution for that...

Why complicating something that is so simple? Even when it comes to ignition.
People will still forget to /deactivate and will exit the vehicle using F, leaving the "oh no, reset again" part happening.

Ask for a taxi ride or a friendly citizen to give you a lift back to your vehicle.

The idea is thoughtful and we appreciate your effort, but it will not happen.

I see you dont understand.. this is for STATE cars only.. and nobody cares about /deactivate anyways.. EVERYTHING WILL BE THE WAY THEY WERE..

except.. that ppl like me who founds a nice state car can keep it parked at my own home (rp) and have it there..

Also ppl will be able to steal it..

Yes, I referred to all vehicles in general. Your idea is not possible in any aspect.
Then everyone can do /deactivate on any STATE vehicle to keep it that way. "Fun" way to withhold vehicles for others. "RP" purposes, of course.

Im not a scripter, but i see it being very possible and quite useful.. no need for it to drawn a lot of attention..

Me as im bored, when there is nothing to do, i would like to have a PMP vehicle next to my house just for the view..
RP is also in some way is forced if someone stoles that car.. you can RP that its yours.. and maybe even call cops for investigation and so on..

Come on, it would be a great idea.. It might not be neccessary, but a good thing to put in next version... Couse now i live pretty far from the main action city, and i exported few cars from city 1 to city 3.. I would like for them few vehicles to be there for longer than 1 day...

Not needed. We have /buycar option if you want some hard so badly. :)
If I didnt understood u well, correct me.

But I believe its possible to script just would take alot complications.

I don't see any point from this idea.

When a manager+ wants to do a car reset, he says, resetting unused cars in 10 seconds, which means you got 10 seconds to get back to your car..

As Void told me once, less commands, more texts..

But if i just moved 3 very nice cars which arent currently for sale? And i keep them to my house.. Which i really like...

And rami didnt understand.. if im not online.. and manager is.. he resets.. whos in the car? nonody.. and if there are 3 cars?

Currently i have 2 PMPs 1 Helicopter and 1 Limo that all are STATE.. i wanna do an event out of them.. Obama run.. ^^ but i will need to keep them for some time near my house for the right ppl to join to aid on this one..

but lets not go away.. I dont see how scripting all this is difficult.. the current state of any state vehicles is "Deactivated" and ready for use.. When someone uses it.. its been "Activated" unless u state it otherwise (/deactivate)..

Deactivated vehicles get ignored in reset...

Seems proper gold idea to me..

or that /deactivate could just freeze the vehicle in that position and eject you.. and frozen vehicles would not be reseted when reset is done..

Why only I see this very possible and helpfull.. mayne I didnt explain it very clear.. maybe my idea hint really wasnt clear enough..

Also.. i had a plan that i tryed to use it last time on a 0.1 Test mode server.. older version.. TS2:

Hired 2 players to transport all STATE cars from airport parking to 1st city that Big garage.. hire another person to paint/restore the cars, refill them and to park them all neatly in that garage..
Then when someone new comes to the server.. i hire another person to wait in airport for someone to join the server.. As soon as he joins, we offer them to buy a STATE car (hold on.. wait for me to end)
He has every right to be new and steal any state car from garage.. no objections.. but who wants can RP and pay $100 for a car.. That $100 is splited to the players that was working for all them cars..

BUT when we were half way there.. Manager showed up and reseted all cars..

Back in those days, there were very few cars, so it was standard procedure to respawn all UNUSED cars every hour or so. Maybe you enjoyed your RP, but what if I trash a car somewhere at the docks? Walk back all the way to the airport to get a car? No thanks.
Not everyone that joins is new and thus does not spawn at the airport.

It's like you own state vehicles? Like you do /delivercar for a state vehicle? Umm, no.

While you are parking many state cars above your house, many people need them, if you just want to do a cars showcase, buy many cars and do a showcase (Just like Dell and Tand :rofl:).

Thomas, Thats what taxis are for.. so its giving more jobs oportunities to taxi drivers... Lets not forget them.. Or someone could just pick him up, that way making more friends... win win.. im sure what you mentioned is not a problem :)

And as for rami, again.. its nothing like /delivercar Not even CLOSE... seriously.. Cars original spawnplace does not change in any way..

Just to summarise it to all, couse many players think its additional trouble..

Add 1 new command to player: /deactivate
Add 2 new commands to manager: /reset activated and /reset deactivated #

that is all.. it is that simple and useful..

I'm sure that it's easy to be scripted, and it's not that hard to be done.

But it's useless. And it's like you are owning  the state vehicles. We have /buycar option (You can buy unlimited cars) and then do whatever you want to do.

And it is kinda selfish.. But with such option, you can think of many different RPs about them...
as i mentioned before, stealing, caling cops for investigation.. maybe even delivering the cars to other players for a few bucks.. would be like state car delivery service.. thats another job right there that could be RPed..

Why don't you just start your own company? For deliveries, transferring, or whatever you want it to be.

A new car dealer will be around soon, be patient.
