Yeh, I am searching for a new good gaming processor. But I am completely unsure about which are good processors. I want a good gaming processor that will not cost over 300$.
I got somethings here and I want you to tell me if they are good or not:

Here is all the information I got about my motherboard and Processor:

Windows Vista Home Basic Service Pack 2
RAM: 3,00GB
System type: 32-bite operative system
If you got a better processor that doesn't cost more than 300$ please post ehre and tell me :D

Im not sure if you never realised, but the second link, the i7 840QM is a 'Mobile' CPU, as in built for Laptops mainly.
From my understanding of the ' Intel i ' range it works the same as Core 2 where the Mobile CPU version is different to the standard PC version due to them being for laptops specifically.

Get a Quad Core, with at least 3 Ghz. I'm using the AMD Athlon II X4 640 (Quad Core) 3 Ghz.
-
Is your motherboard compatible with any of your desired processors that is something currently missing here.
-
Post your motherboard model first.
-
And other specifications of your computer components, so we can see what should be upgraded and what not.

With that motherboard you can only look at AMD processors with Socket AM2+
-
If you want gaming performance you should not only upgrade your processor, but also
your graphics card and most likely with that kind of computer, also add more RAM.
What I'd do? Save at least another $200 and then buy a proper computer - or buy it used to save money.

Since you are talking about computers, which one of these two is the best? (Don't care about the money):
Computer 1 (http://viewitem.eim.ebay.no/VIBOX-970-SPEED-102-AMD-x4-QUAD-CORE-35GHz-GAMING-PC/220761776855/item)

Here is the APB Reloaded Recommended Specification:
OS: Windows Windows 7
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q8600 2.6 GHz or better
RAM: 6 GB or more
HDD: 20 GB or more
Graphics Card: GeForce 8600GT or better
I want to run APB Reloaded on the best performance, which computer will do it best? The first one or the second one?
-
If any of your friends or perhaps you know someone close to you who knows about computers, ask them to build you a PC or at least, make a list of what should be bought. Those so called "gaming PC's" have nothing but extreme processors and more RAM you would ever need - but with the crappiest graphics card possible - so you couldn't play shit with them.

It's already been posted but I'll say it again.
That Motherboard is suitable for only AMD Processors.
Also, just a note, for playing games, and AMD Athlon II x4 640 with a GTX 280 will run games faster than an AMD Phenom II x4 prcessor with a GTS450 for example.
You need to match up the Graphics Card to the computer really.
Get a MUCH better Graphics card than the 8600GT
-
The best processor that you can put on that board is a Phenom II x4 955.
-
And why couldn't he put a Phenom x6 in it?

[/quote]omfg 6gb?! i only got 2 :(

Because Thuban only supports AM3. But a 955 Deneb can be put on AM2+ and AM3
(6) (4)
-
My Motherboard is AM2+ but supports the Thuban Processors.
-
Whats your mobo then?
-
mobo is Gigabyte GA-M68M-S2P
Shit it's AM2 not AM2+ -.-
