Title: Anti-Virus/Internet Security programs
Post by: Janar on June 05, 2011, 08:33:38 pm
Howdy all!

I've been looking around for different anti-virus and internet security programs, both free and shareware ones. The main requirement, that I have, is that program would use as less memory, as possible, although it would be very effective at the same time. Firewall isn't needed, as I have one very advanced program already(GhostWall). My main target is anti-virus, anti-malware or something also, that would have real-time protection.

Give me some recommedations.

I personally use and have used, http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download (http://Avast for many years, it's quite, fast and gets the job done.

What's more it's free and light weight.

Never use norton. It messed up my PC by making it slower, giving viruses or something and giving me the blue screen of death.
(I had the official paid version)

I use Avast! and it doesn't use lots of resources.

When you're scanning for viruses , it may make your computer slower , but sometimes not.

Microsoft Security Essentials (Free) or Malware Antibytes. Either one of these (or both if you're paranoid like me) and Sandboxie is what I'd recommend.
