People that make their topic should be able to manage it like moderators do.
They should be able to:
*Remove posts.
*Lock their topic.
*Mute people FROM their topic(Meaning when they try to post a message would appear saying *you are muted from this topic*)
*Set other people as topic moderators(Good for groups)

Cool, just don't let us mute players. It will cause random muting and fighting.
-
I agree with everything except muting, instead puting a mute command which can cause arguments and fights between players, just remove the player post, and ask him to stop posting, and if he do not obey kindly, you can go to a forum moderator.
The idea itself is great, I realy like it and hope it'll be added.

Agree :D

I like the idea, minus the muting part. Hopefully it would help out with these topics that are littered with comments from forum trolls who think it's funny to spam arguments and unneeded comments in peoples topics :D
-
Only in some topics.
Group topics and stuff...yes, but in other topics I could see abuse where owners would mute people who disagreed with them
-
The mute would be only for that topic, not the entire forum...
Supported.
-
Supported only if the mute part is removed. If he continues trolling your topic or sth report him.
-
Some good ideas, although this could lead to disputes on the forums - if a topic becomes too controlled and responses only based on how the owner wants them.
Something similar here: http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=70899.0 (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=70899.0)

One thing that concerns me is how some topic owners may remove useful or important posts from Administration who do not happen to have Forum Moderation rights.
Sad to say, not all on forum can be trusted with Moderation rights, even for their own topics.
-
Is it possible that the topic owners could only move certain posts to an archive where forum moderators could delete it or replace it?

That's just makes the things more complacated.
-
No, it's a bad idea. Posts that do not agree with the OP (and indeed, those that directly disagree) will get removed which is not good for a discussion.
-
I think the most suitable idea would be in that link I posted a little above - allowing you and select others to edit the main topic area.
The Forum Admins should be capable of any other reports etc. ;)
-
I oppose this idea. It could be fairly abused in million ways.
Report the post or PM a moderator+.

agreed

No. This is MUCH more general than the idea of allowing a select group of people to modify the thread's main post, and can be abused in many different ways.
