Title: Camhack not working.

Yea, will title says what is my problem. I am using Vista at the moment, and I'm not sure if CamHack works with it, so if somebody can confirm that, it would be nice. When I first downloaded it, it ask to download a .dll file. I searched the .dll file on google, and downloaded and afterwards placed it in the System32 folder. I even placed it in the folder, and in the GTA folder. The only difference it had this time, is that CamHack would open, but, it would stop responding. So if anyone could help, it would be appreciated. And the .dll file that I needed to download, was named "dx8vb.dll".

you need to register the file as 32-bit..
Open command prompt, go to the folder where is the dll and type:
C:> regsvr32 dx8vb.dll

If in trouble, send PM to Aragorn... he just managed.

That didn't just work for me, if this doesnt work for you, go into safe mode then do it and it should work.

Hello...

I have Win 7 and had the exact same problem...

I did place the file to the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64

then you go

Start --->>> All Programs --->>> Folder "Accessories" --->>> Command Promt (run as administrator)

There in suggested line you add two things:

1. cd c:\windows\syswow64\

and the next line add:

2. regsvr32 dx8vb.dll

You were using incorrect... I first time also had to use safe mode... If you use the correct command task manager you do not nee to restart for safe mode...

I got kinda weird problem, first my camhack is working all fine and so on. Then I re-installed my GTA SA to remove all my mods, and suddenly its not working anymore? D:

I tried 1.1 and 1.2, neither one works anymore and just crashes the game

Yes, when I press the camhack enable button, the strange thing is that before I re-installed my SA to remove mods it worked fine

I got exactly same problem.
First I took hour to find how to install properly dx8vb.dll (got the freeze thing) before using the cmd way wich worked fine.

Now as Fuzzy when I press enable command (Numpad *) gta-sa.exe crash.

Got GTA:SA V1.0
Tried both saCamHack 1.1 and 1.2 versions but same problem
And I am on Windows 7 64-bit.

I will try reinstall GA:SA .. maybe some files are corrupted or I dunno

It can be camhack file also...

If the GTA SA is virgin now try to reinstall sacamhack (in case you sure you placed the dx8vb.dll file into correct folder)...

I have 64 bit and had the same problem. Pasted the DLL file in to both sysWOW64 and system32 and it worked.

I redownloaded the dx8vb.dll and reinstalled it (with cmd)
I got valid message
once enable IG crash
I even puted it in system32 and install via regsrv dx8cb.dll, got valid message too
once enable IG crash
I tried sevral resoltion IG, on windows and both
Still crashing
I even tried CamHack 1.5
doesn't fix it, same crash.
I tried to also add the dx7vb.dll cause the link was with dx8vb.dll on some youtube tutorial and added it with cmd
same crash..

Now I will try to update my Graphic card ( GeForce GTX 470 ) with a beta I don't have and also my "Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset 4 port SATA IDE Controller" which can have a new driver too.

Does anyone know how I could get the log of CamHack/gta-sa.exe ? So maybe I could see when does it crash the game

Do you run camhack as administrator?

Guys try also remove the parameters user file from GTA SA folder in your Documents...
Perhaps there were saved some parameters which camhack conflicts with (keys controls were changed before, resolutions, whatever)... Depends on when you tried to click it I dunno...

Reinstalled GTA Sa, also remove user file... Try it...

I tried delete config.ini and all .cam (only views.cam), but still same.

The update of my GPU driver didn't help.

I had camhack before I reinstalled my PC and I got the same error but I'm pretty sure that I downloaded a fix from Microsoft website.
I'll see if I can find it, also, I would recommend you install all windows updates.
Edit: Also update directx to latest one if you don't have it already.(here (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35))
2nd edit:Ok so this worked for me on 64bit, I placed dx8vb.dll in SysWOW64, just like Aragorn.
Although you have to put it in system32.
Then I ran command prompt and typed 'regsvr32 c:\windows\sysWOW64\dx8vb.dll
However, you should use 'regsvr32 c:windows\system32\dx8vb.dll

Hope it works, and sorry, I couldn't find that link on microsoft site anymore.

I do not run updates as before I formatted my computer around 2 months ago I had tons of shit from this updates together with virus (fake windows antivirus), lol...
This virus I could remove but it was always coming with updates... So I do not touch that shit anymore...  :D

Tried it, did the instructions.

Said the file was loaded, but "the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005"

Edit: Googled it, apparently it has to do with the computer security preventing the file from being used.

Edit2: SOLVED!!!!

To override the security, run cmd.exe as administrator and type the line to validate the dx8vb.dll file!

But the point is, i cant run the cmd.exe as administrator as you can see on picture.
when im typing the line its dropping some error

Don't go to properties, just rightclick command prompt and look for "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" on the list, not in Properties.

For some reason when I'm ingame running Camhack, the FOV (field of vision) is warped up a bit (I'm running 1900x600 Widescreen Enabled) and it looks wider and shorter. Also, I'm unable to use the mouse when using free mode..?

That is your game configs... Try to remove the config file from Documents/GTA San Andreas folder...

Thnaks to Mikal I found out there is Camera Hack 1.5 (http://media.argonathrpg.com/index.php/cameratools/doc_download/3-camerahack-15) lol...

Try this one guys, maybe it will help...

Btw it already has dx8vb.dll file in a package...

Aragorn, I did as you said on the first page, except mine, I placed on System32 folder. I get an error code, when I put the two codes.
