Sorry to create a new topic guys, but I wanted to bring this to your attention. Although it does not affect your forum version specifically, this [This] is why I'm pressuring various Argonath forums to upgrade immediately. Security issues are being constantly found in older versions of SMF, and this is why I'm trying to make sure these upgrades happen as soon as possible to keep user data safe. Please, I beg of you, make this a priority and upgrade as soon as possible.

P.S. Apologies for the generic topic. I'm posting this on every Argonath forum I can find that is out-of-date. Thank you for your understanding, and I do apologize if this post is a new topic. Most of the forums I already spoke to locked the previous topic to prevent spam or because it was being "looked into".

I'll do it for the Weazel News forum ;).

Thanks for the topic, just installed the 2.0 RC4 security patch on the minecraft forum.

2.0 Gold is out. You're still 2 versions behind. I would highly suggest doing more than that. There are security issues in other versions as well. They may not be as large as this, but they do exist.

*Bump*
For those still on SMF 2.0 RC5 or earlier:
For users of SMF 2.0 RC5, this release consists primarily of several bug fixes - most notably it fixes the login protection and possibility of real name spoofing. These issues have serious security implications, and we urge users to upgrade to it as soon as possible. For users of SMF 1.1, the changes between 1.1 and 2.0 are too numerous to list here - but we're sure you will be pleased with the new features SMF 2.0 has to offer.
The following are the more important changes and fixes since SMF 2.0 RC5:
Fixes to login protection system
Real name spoofing prevention
MySQL 5.5 compatibility fixes
Several PostgreSQL related fixes
Fixes to integration hooks
Several user interface fixes
Fixes related to member profile updates
Fixes to upgrade scripts
