Title: Emergency Radio
Post by: SugarD on July 11, 2011, 01:29:38 pm
Hey there guys. I noticed someone added a radio for ARFD, (and possibly EMS too, didn't check). Absolutely love it. Because of this being added, however, I thought I might as well make a suggestion for a script to go along with it. Seeing as each emergency service has it's own radio now, why not make a cross-communication radio through "/c e <message>" similar to SA:MP's? It would enable each emergency service to communicate with the other ones, thus enabling them to call for assistance from the other as needed and promote better cooperation. This could lead to bigger and better RP's with more people participating. :)

Long story short for those that don't like to read my paragraphs, the idea is simple:
Have a cross-service radio via "/c e <message>" that all emergency services can jointly use to communicate with each other outside of their normal radios.

No one added ARFD radio unless you mean /c 911

Really, medic skins are mostly used by people who want to make a quick buck or criminals who are aiding wounded criminals..there is not really much RP involved in being a medic for now and the skin is largely un-used, and don't get me started on fireman skin - they just crash the firetruck into everything, or troll you with water cannon.

I don't really think there is a need for this unless someone decides to lead ARFD and make it existent in VCMP Argo

Legend is already working on that, and I'm not sure who added it because I couldn't find anything about it here on the forums, but ARFD does seem to have it's own radio. "/c r <message>" works just like the police radio, and appends a ARFD tag to the beginning of the transmission. Whoever made this, thank you!

As for the Medic and Firefighter skins not being used, I'm planning on getting that fixed. I hired Legend to run ARFD on that server in hopes it could be spread there to create more RP with those skins, and I've been visiting the server much more lately to improve some morale concerning the skins, and the careers themselves.

This already exists in the form of /c em, if I'm not mistaken.

I didn't hear about that, but I'll check it out the next time I'm in-game. Hope there is! :)

Yea, would be a shame if VC:MP was missed out of features that the rest of Argonath has, so I am just helping in setting up some things directly suitable for our server. That way, along with time, as things expand and more resources are available if there's a team of people suited for such tasks, they can easily take over. :)

"/c r <message>" was here already back in 2007

I said ARFD lol...

ARFD is a Fire Department. ARPD is a Police Department.

Edit: I confirmed the previous statement about "/c em <message>". This is the Emergency Radio, so it does exist already. Thanks guys!

Hahaha, no problem man. I figured you might have either misread it, or thought I mistyped it ;)
