Yeah, I just downloaded the game last night on my cousin's PC. The PC is pretty shitty.... but that wouldn't be the problem, would it? I tried f7, but chat doesn't appear... so if anyone knows the solution to this problem, please tell me.
:ps: I changed the resolution, still no help.

Can you show a screen of the invisible chat?

Have you tried reinstalling SAMP? Also, did you get the latest from the official SAMP site?
-
Yeah... downloaded the mirror from SA:MP Team. SA:MP 0.3c R3 is what I got.
-
Looks like resolution, try turning it up or down, down if your cousins monitor is small and up if its bigger.
-
It's small... turned it all the way down. I guess it's just not meant for SA:MP.

Check on how many colours the setting is. Could be that you need minimal 256 colours.

Where can I check that? I mean I know it's using 32-bit system.

OK, so I right-clicked on the SA:MP icon, and on the GTA_SA.exe and clicked "properties". The I went on the "compatibility" tab, and clicked "Run in 256 colors". I checked that for both SA:MP icon and gta_sa.exe. There is also "Run in 640x480 resolution", "Disable visual themes", and "Turn off visual text services for this program". What do I need to do? I checked only 'Run in 256 colors', but the chat still doesn't show up in game.

Had the same problem.
Downgrade from the SAMP 0.3 R3 version and this bug will be fixed.
Install an older version and everything will be back to normal.
-
Delete the "gta_sa.set" file inside your GTA San Andreas Userfile folder. Make sure you copy the file before you delete it if that isn't the problem.
-
You could try /pagesize 20 in-game...
Also try different resolutions.
Also try different video drivers (including the default Microsoft Windows one).
Also I wouldn't run it in forced 256 colors, nor forced 640x480.

Sure you are not with F7? try tipping it

For anyone with this problem, please try the following.
- Install the SA-MP 0.3c R3 client
- Download this zip containing a replacement samp.dll
http://www.sa-mp.com/stuff/samp_dll-03cR3-intel.zip (http://www.sa-mp.com/stuff/samp_dll-03cR3-intel.zip)
- Extract the samp.dll from the above zip file and paste it in to your GTA San Andreas folder, replacing the existing samp.dll
- Run the game and see if the chat screen works as expected
- If it works, please report so here
- If it doesn't work, please post the contents of your chatlog.txt, found in your GTA San Andreas\SAMP folder under My Documents. This file should contain the reason why it didn't work
Thanks
