Well this all started in my first year of Uni where i got my hands on a DSLR to use for an assignment and i took photos of my footy club and i pretty much fell in love with it. took me a while but last christmas i got a DSLR for my self and started taking photos as a hobbie for myself and my friends.
I've mostly taken photos at my footy club but i love car photography.
well here are some of my favorites:

Looks awesome! ;)
-
Any black and whites developed? If it could be seen.
Otherwise, solid work on the current ones.
-
Hmm.. Jack Daniels :D
-
Awesome work Petey! I'm impressed. :D
-
Why do I keep reading the topic as "Petey's Pornography"?
Also, "Designs" doesn't fit photography. You're not designing anything after all.
-
Designs came apart from when i was photoshoping a shit load and creating a game for uni.. it just kinda stayed with me, so ive been running with Petey Designs for 3 years now.
also thanks for your coments guys, if you could like my facebook page a lot more photos on there ;)
-
That bottle of Jack Daniels look tasty Peter, and nice picture of the ocean. Australia is a nice place and worth visiting what I have heard.

I just fell in love with this view, damn nice.

Though I like your photography, the stamping of the logo irritates me. Make it smaller and simpler. :)
-
I think its small enough. im not like some people that have a massive watermark in the middle of the photo. its small and in the corner of the photos.
againt hanks for the comments guys :D

Heey Petey!
May I know the model of your DSLR camera.
As for your photography itself, It does look good, but you should get more in touch with some few tricks and rules in photography.
For example, some of your pictures don't have a good lightning value (what makes your pictures over-lighted) and you used a flash on some objects that really didn't need one.
From that I assume you took them in automatic mode and that you're recently started with photography?
Other than that, you have an eye for good photographic scenes, which is definatly something a good photographer should have.
Also, If I may suggest something, I wouldn't directly add a logo to any photo you make. I would recommend to get more in touch with it first and then add logo's to the work you want your logo on.
-
its a Nikon D3100, just a base model DSLR but its doing its job for me.
Yes only just stated at the start of the year and yes most of my photos have been in auto-mode, but i do go in to the manual settings when i can to try out different things.
So you know, i do know about the lighting issues and how to position objects or the person im taking photos of, im just guessing you actually went to my page and had a look at the photos? just so i can explain some things, the Footy game photos, some times im not on the right side of the ground for the time of day for the game, so the lighting in them photos get fucked and well i take those photos for my mates so i just put them up anyways, the footy presentation night was the first real time i was taking mass photos at night, and well my settings were off.. still working on that.
for the other ones like the new C4C pictures, cant control the position of the cars people had parked, so had to use what i had, yes i could of had more light in some of the photos, but on a day with close to 2000 cars there and being awake from 5am i was pretty wrecked. so the quality of some of the photos do show up.
as for the logo, that's just more as a security thing, already Ive had photos taken from my C4C album and ive found them around the net, with out the logos who gonna know who took them, as well as its just a little self promotion. btw i still have the original photos so if i ever need one with out the logos i do have them.

Yes only just stated at the start of the year and yes most of my photos have been in auto-mode, but i do go in to the manual settings when i can to try out different things.
Most of my work was taken on a point-and-shoot camera with the following results:
These 2 are examples from my point-and-shoot camera's. What I want to point out is that how basic your material may be, it's still the photographer operating the device that makes or destroys the picture.
A DSLR camera has more options and features, yet again these all need to be mastered, since a DSLR won't take much better footage in full automatic mode in most cases. My Canon EOS 550D, a fine DLSR camera, isn't able to shoot scenes in much better quality than my Point and Shoot Samsung ST5500.
But as said before, I think you're doing pretty well for your first year, but I strongly recommend you a few things:
So you know, i do know about the lighting issues and how to position objects or the person im taking photos of, im just guessing you actually went to my page and had a look at the photos? just so i can explain some things, the Footy game photos, some times im not on the right side of the ground for the time of day for the game, so the lighting in them photos get f**ked and well i take those photos for my mates so i just put them up anyways, the footy presentation night was the first real time i was taking mass photos at night, and well my settings were off.. still working on that.
For football matches there is indeed a big chance of succes or failure depending on where you can stand. The foucs seems to be good and for sport games, espescially these type of sports games I can only say that the focus is your most important thing.
As for night photography, Automatic won't do the trick. The best way to get yourself fantastical night pictures is to go in manual mode, turn the ISO as low as possible, get yourself a tripod so the camera won't move whilst capturing your image to avoid shaking (putting the camera on a solid ground is also good, aslong it cannot move from itself).
Once your camera is set on a low ISO setting and is on a stable underground such as a tripod, you can mess around with the shutter speed (the time it takes to capture your picture) and diafragma. Note that this method can only be used on solid objects that don't move.
Humans don't stand still, neither does the moon or stars.
for the other ones like the new C4C pictures, cant control the position of the cars people had parked, so had to use what i had, yes i could of had more light in some of the photos, but on a day with close to 2000 cars there and being awake from 5am i was pretty wrecked. so the quality of some of the photos do show up.
You may try to learn the HDR-Photography method for this kind of situations. HDR stands for 'High Dynamic Range' and enables you to create pictures as if you're looking to the object with your own eye. I don't know if your camera is a good camera model to shoot HDR photo's with, so I'd suggest you google that up if you feel interested.
as for the logo, that's just more as a security thing, already Ive had photos taken from my C4C album and ive found them around the net, with out the logos who gonna know who took them, as well as its just a little self promotion. btw i still have the original photos so if i ever need one with out the logos i do have them.
Remember people can still crop out your watermark. Best thing you can do is setting an invisible watermark in the data file of the picture. In some camera's you can (espescially DSLR) you can write your copyright directly to your taken pictures.
And last but not least, please don't take my words as offensive nor to break you down. I just think these things might help you take even better pictures.

im just gonna leave this here

-
Whats your ISO?
-
Whats your ISO?
Can't remember what I had it set too for this but i think for the second half I had it set at about 1000, but tbh i can't remember at all haha
That's amazing Petey - watch this for some inspiration:
EPIC. don't think I have the time or equipment to do something like that. my setup for my timelapse was very basic
-
Nice pictures Petey, more more! :)
