Title: 9/11 Tenth Anniversary WTC Memorial Names
Post by: SugarD on August 22, 2011, 11:07:14 am
Due to the few thousand civilians, emergency service members, military workers, and other general people that were victims on 9/11, the U.S. Government has been working hard and has almost completely finished building the 9/11 Memorial at the WTC Ground Zero site in New York. They are expected to finish and officially open on 9/11/2011, the tenth anniversary of the attacks. As a result of their memorial construction process, they have placed plates around memorial fountain pools, complete with large waterfalls, around the perimeter of where the WTC's Twin Towers once stood. In addition, the 9/11 Memorial website has put up a complete list of known names that were listed around the pools in alphabetical order by last name. For those interested in seeing the names, you can find them here:

One that really bothered me, (just browsing through the list of the some-odd 3,000 or so names), stood out to me because it listed a woman's name and "her unborn child". Thinking about all the terror, fear, and sadness that resulted from those attacks nearly 10 years ago, I never would have thought that even those yet to come into this world were killed that day. I just hope the world will change some day soon, because otherwise we will either finally fix our problems after a massively-devastating worldwide incident leaving many dead, or we will annihilate each other and cease to exist altogether on this planet. Please, we are the next defining generation of people in this world, I beg of you...try not to make the same mistakes people in the past have. There's no reason for this kind of stuff to be happening, and I'm not just referring to 9/11, or terrorist attacks, but killing each other in general. We call ourselves human, yet we treat each other far less than humane every day...

Rest in peace to all the victims and their families.
When I passed that place where the WTC was I felt a weird energy in my body and my skin was like chicken skin.

I remember that day 10 years ago(2001) I was only in the first grade and my mom rushed to pick me up out of school,I'm like wtf is going on? Then get home and look at the news and I'm confused as shit as I'm to young to understand whats going on and when they said who possibly did it I thought we should bomb them off the map which I understand now is retarded as fighting violence with more violence never solves anything but just gets people killed.

You can see progress of the new building here http://www.panynj.gov/wtcprogress/index.html (http://www.panynj.gov/wtcprogress/index.html)

I think building the new building shows a sign of strength showing those who plotted/did it the finger and I man a big finger

RIP to the 2,977 souls

Regards

Such is the evil of the world these days, and the bullshit that is a group of terrorists claiming their attack was nothing but "a military strike in a legally declared war against the United States".

A military strike, total bullshit. The majority of the casualties were civilians and innocents.

I am still incredibly shocked how many innocent women, men and children died that day. May this day never repeat itself all over again.
