Hello, I'm just wondering exactly what are the rules on AFK kicks and no begging? A lot of players get kicked for both of those and neither are listed in the rules. I know, if you're going AFK /q yada yada. But still, are they in the process of being added or what?
Thanks,
Pepito.

AFK players are kicked when suspected or when blocking some place (or standing in the middle of a busy road).
No begging and the whole rest "unwritten" are basically "ignoring admins" with instant explanation in the reason so admins don't have to drag the "z0mg how did I ignore?" when they reconnect.

If an AFK guy is kicked it means that some player is inconvenienced by their AFK placement. If players want to go AFK - do so in a place that is not inconveniencing players albeit a busy road, paynspray, afk su (distracts cops) etc.
As for begging. Admins get spammed in PM and by admin "chat". Admins receive double the amount of text of regular players as it is, not even taking into account the numerous PM questions, PM help requests, moans and reports. We also receive a lot of bogus reports and questions more suited to main chat or /h. Of course we have to answer these as well. So over all of this spam and multiple conversations, if a player starts PMing asking for money and does not take "no" for an answer - he is kicked.
So a message to all. If admin answers straight yes or no - do not pursue them, do not keep spamming. Answer will be the same and all you will accomplish is distracting them from helping other players.

Every unwritten rule falls under at least one of the official Argonath Rules, and that is what gives us the authority to enforce them.
-
Some common sense is never wrong ethier if you are unsure.
And I clearly don't see it as common sense afking in the middle of the road.
Nethier is afking as an suspect.
And begging people constantly falls under Harassment.
JDC summed it up pretty good.
And lastly, if Argonath was to have every single type of offense, every single type of distracting behaviours and whatnot in the rules, we'd have the Holy bible of rules by now.
*Admins, he's talking about (insert illegal matter here).
*Oh wait, lemme see if it's allowed or not.
*Takes up the rules book of 40+ pages.

As its Sunday....
God gave 10 commandments to Moses and told that not a single line should be added or removed from these words. Still people decided to write things like a Bible and Quran from it, as those who wished to circumvent the commandments always asked for more explanations.
Argonath gave 15 rules.
Why players want to make a Bible of rules ?

Then how are people going to know if it is a rule or not?

By some thinking and using the little bit of common sense that they may have.

I've seen people get kicked for being AFK too long. How can you apply common sense to that, and think it's against the rules? Does being AFK harm others? No.
-
No, but if they think of what could possibly happen whilst they are "afk", they would simply leave the server and come back at a time they can be bothered to play. Administrators are thinking of the players when they are kicking people for such.
False suspections, people wiring starter money to "afk" people possibly getting them in trouble, fake kill hacks. Just a small number of things that can happen whilst afk... yes the latter is somewhat not as bad as it were previously but can still happen...
All it takes is to think about consequences of an action if you are unsure you simply contact the administration if administration are unsure then they will contact management so on and so on.

We kick long-AFK players for the same reason we keep toddlers away from staircases; to prevent shit from happening to them.

Then maybe this can be added into the rules. Because when a player for the first time get punished for this, they start moaning, and it becomes a shitstorm.

Not everything that is an action from admins is or requires a rule.
Not every kick is a punishment.

Mind explaining to me, and maybe others that would like to know more?

No.

Not every kick is a punishment.
Actually...... that's pretty true.

To make the long story short:
Admins are here to enforce the rules, maintain order, and protect the players. To do that, we use the rights given to us, with the admin guidelines and the 15 server rules.
For that reason, I do not understand players trying to make a Bible of Argonath Rules and taking every chance to antagonize admin actions.

in other words... admins can make it personal if they want to :devroll:
