The Leone family originates from the town of Trapani, Sicily.
It all started from a mobster, nicknamed 'Sonny'; he was known to be an Italian-American "Tough guy", who was feared by others.
Sonny appeared to be leading a crime family, named by his last name, "The Leone family", and was supported by his loyal management group.
The family was rising from day to day leading to hundreds of made men, which resulted as a threat to the five families,
considering the large influence the Leones had over the city.
A day has come where the pressure between the families resulted in a mob war, when all of the members of the five families went against Leone, killing a large amount of their made men; the Leone family fought back but they were no match to the high quantity of people against them, which all ended in a blood bath resulting in the murder of most of the old family members including Sonny. After the war only a few loyal made-men were left, one of who was: Vincenzo Leone a loyal members of the syndicate who fought in the mob war as one of Sonny's Lieutenants, and due to the war and the ultimate death of Sonny, Vincenzo was forced to flee San Andreas with those loyal to the family, returning to the family's place of formation.
Vincenzo was announced to be the new Don of the family after returning to Trapani, and after long meditation decided to move the family to Liberty City, in the hope of a new beginning.
The arrival to Liberty City was a success, the family started making connections as they did in Sicily, earning respect, gaining power and having people join them. After some time, the son of Vincenzo, Davey, flew to San Andreas, to expand the empire. Rumors said by a few people announced the activities of the family, such as: drug trafficking, loan-sharking, extortion, and illegal gambling.
