Title: Desktop icons
Post by: Ice on August 28, 2007, 09:15:20 pm
I have a problem with my desktop icons on Windows Vista.
I have a shortcut to Internet Explorer on desktop, and it has an arrow on icon which shows its a shortcut.
But even if I change the icon of shortcut, it still has the arrow, and it annoys me, since I want to make a nice new desktop without the arrows on shortcut.
The problem is that I cant make ex. Internet Explorer appear on desktop, without having the shortcut arrow on icon.
So I wanted to hear if any of you guys know how to make shortcuts appear on desktop, without having the shortcut arrow on icon?
I would really appreciate if you can help me with it.
Thanks!
:ps: Remember its Windows Vista Home Premium

Hey,
i don't know if i undersand you right.
You want to change the icon from a shortcut arrow thingy to an other one ?
Click with the right mouse button on your actually icon -> attributes -> link -other symbol
There you can choose a new symbol for your link.
I hope i understand you right (what i don't think  )

:ps: I am using XP so maybe it is a bit different with your way.
You already used google ? You should do it.

The problem is that the arrow on icon looks crappy, when u want to make a nice desktop.
So I want a way to make the desktop show a shortcut to ex. Internet Explorer, but without the icon has that arrow on it.

Opera is Way Better!
also, faster
has tab browsing
all the same as Internet Exploder 7.0

and it does not 'needs to close, sorry for fucking your work' like Internet exploder :cop:

There aint any arrows in IE as well. But the one that Ice has on his desktop is the shortcut of IE. All shortcuts of ur program placed on the desktop will have an arrow., whereas u can directly place IE icon on the desktop without applying the shortcut method.
