OK, so here's the thing. As some of you know I am quite avid user of the /helpmeup command. Mostly I have used it when not suspected and to just climb on top of the buildings, for example got on top of the GS9 big billboard. Even though it can be said I was using the script for not it's purpose no harm done as I didn't use it to get any advantage...until today. Today I used it while suspect to get away from cops and got punished for it. I deserved it and I give out respect to Louis for doing his job well and correctly :)
That incident still although left one question in my mind. Why can't I use it to to get an advantage in a role play manner? In my case, I used it inner court of morodor to get on the roof of the building and then escape. I was suspected, then I typed /me throws a rope to the roof while having this image in my head.

then I typed /helpmeup and got on the roof.
Now I repeat again I was punished and done so rightfully, but it left me a question that if I can use any command to assist me with roleplaying is it wrong to do so if the command wasn't initially meant for that purpose?

If you are using a command which is used for errors only ( non roleplay commands to help you get unstuck ) for a roleplay situation, it's powergaming. There is no ''hook'' but you are getting on top of a building by using a scripted command.

Command = Designed for unbugging people, right?
so using it in RP is incorrect I suppose!
-
Make a grapling hook script then

The detail of why you received punishment was in the use while suspected. If you wish to play Spiderman going up buildings, there will usually not be a problem.
The /helpmeup command allows to go thorugh surfaces that should be solid, which by itself us using the scripts to glitch. An example of this is using it to get on top of an interior.
Rules should be clear and give strict limits that are not open for interpretation. As can be noticed daily on server, there is no limit to the ingenuity of some to circumvent rules and use alternative interpretation to avoid punishment. There for we attempt to place limits that hold a little exceptions as possible.
It is then up to admin to allow certain transgressions in the spirit of roleplay.

If we can make a lag-free or lag-minimal script that can be monitored and that would not go through solid objects, then I don't see why not.
This is also the same problem why we cannot make an efficient /rappel script from a helicopter although we already have /winch, because you will go through objects.

ive used /helpmeup one time in RP.. i RPd that i levitated for a moment then failed and died (used /kill too)
it resulted in an accidental killbug, which later got unsuspected, and we all lived happily ever after.
on the grapple hook idea/scenario... the using it as suspect is not so good... but the idea of using /helpmeup for a grapple is not bad in itself.. of course, how do u get anywhere using it? it only goes straight up...
