Title: Question
Post by: Duel on November 06, 2011, 02:18:43 am
How can I reduce the Game's CPU Usage?

This is where I am really stuffed, everything runs the game, just with a bit of lag because of my CPU, the usage is like always on 90% / 100% while playing, and lags lags lags... Any way to reduce it? My graphics, and RAM is all fine... Just the CPU.. So basicly I don't want an FPS Booster..

Lowering the games settings may have a slight effect depending by how much and what is adjusted. Older Dual Cores tend to suffer the most in IV in terms of the amount of usage as IV is quite processor intensive.

Also go to task manager and set your GTA IV to high priority. This should make your game run a little smoother. If you run on Win 7 then also turn off your Widnows Event Log from services.

Ahh, that explains why my brother sometimes gets a little CPU lag, and I don't!I've got AthlonII 645 Quad, and he has the 640 (none-overclocked one).
Useful topic already  :D

Dust it off, I guess it's dust causing overheating.

GTA IV is a CPU-eater game, so if you've got a dual core CPU, you are going to suffer. Try some tweaks said in the above comments.

I'm using a Celeron... Its about 5 Months old, and I get no lag on Grid, Assassins Creed or any HD games besides GTA:IV.

It is good to post the full characteristics of your PC - GPU, RAM.

Edit: Which Assassin's Creed game?

Worked! Thanks.
