Title: Block /su for new players
Post by: Talya_taya on November 11, 2011, 10:16:59 am
All of us at least 1 time got /su ed by a new player that doesn't know the rules of ARPD and the lawbreaks AND the difference between the lawbreak and rulebreak. New players are not experienced and need some time to be a cop without /su command so they can follow other experienced cops and learn what reasons are they use to /su . I thought it should be blocked for players who doesn't have passport.

Please leave a comment and thanks for reading. ^^

Not supported. New players could be Argonath regulars. If a cop /sues you for a invalid crime you can just simply /gu and ask for an investigation, or take a screen shot of him abusing you and send it to a admin or the LCPD.

Do you mean about someone for e.x come from SA:MP to IV:MP?

If it is, as I know, passports directly given for regulars.

If a cop /sues you for a invalid crime you can just simply /gu and ask for an investigation, or take a screen shot of him abusing you and send it to a admin or the LCPD.

Yesterday a new player abused /su for +10 times.> He made the server like Cops And Crooks ^^ // There are no admins/high rank LCPD or FBI members all day so sometimes there are no one to do investigation and it's something really hard and boring thing to get killed or jailed cos of a wrong crime, and about SS , it's not a permanent solution. When I be a cop, I explain to new players and give information about being a cop but some of them are not even listening.

So I thought until a player learn the server, he/she should follow experienced players and learn with examples.

You could have just reported him to the LCPD and he would have gotten a copban.

This was already added some time ago if you remember, and was removed because against the Argonath Vision (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=38482.0).

Yeah, but it was blocking /duty cop which completely disallows being cop. Well, actually I think; instead of new people trying it, they should watch and learn. However, all of our learn style is different. ^^

You could have just reported him to the LCPD and he would have gotten a copban.

Playing for more than 3 months and didn't see anybody got a copban and it's not something true also. You can't give punishment to a new player that tries to understand / don't know what to do for the job

That's because copban is not scripted yet ^^

Rather then restricting commands teach them now. If someone has gone wrong somewhere explain to them what it was they did wrong and explain to them the more appropriate thing to do. If the way you are trying to teach people seems not to be working or they are blatantly breaking rules then you hand it over to the administration. As far as a copban script that doesn't need to be brought over to IV:MP.

It's against Argonath Vision, where everyone must be treated equality.

Try to teach these 'New cops' the rules at first, don't moan too much about them .. Don't forget that you and everyone else was a new player at some point.

Ok, I just wanted to see what does people really think about it.  :hurray:

And when I was new, first tried to understand how does that job works then started to /su x). I don't remember that I used it wrong when I was new. ^^

That's because copban is not scripted yet ^^

I feel like drove straight to the wall with 200km/h and the feeling after the crushing  :hit:.

Well, then nothing to talk more then, I don't have a chance or mind to change the Argonath Vision.

In reality, I think its nice how it is. The only way the cop can learn to use /su is by making the mistake of falsey suspecting someone. Think about it, new cops don't get taught how to use /su before they actually suspect someone until AFTER they falsey /su someone. Regulars speak up to new cops as soon as they falsely /su someone, then they learn.
Making mistakes is the only way that they can learn.

Rami stated the point. This won't even be taken into consideration. No matter how hard you try.
