Title: Could GTA:5 be set in all of San Andreas ?
Post by: Driggz on November 16, 2011, 03:12:48 am
Is it known that GTA:V will be set in Los Santos and the surrounding countryside, but maybe the rest of the state is being held off in the first trailer?
Check out the license plate on this police car
(http://www.igta5.com/images/gta-5-trailer-1-rear-of-los-santos-police-car.jpg)

There could be two reasons for this. It could just be a San Andreas license plate, because in the USA states, its a State license plate rather than City plates. Or maybe it could mean GTA:V will feature LV and SF after all?

and could the OCT be the release date?, although the sticker on the right, I believe is a 2011 reg sticker

I still think it's unlikely that all of San Andreas (at least as we know it) will be included. I extremely doubt that San Fierro and Las Venturas will be making a comeback. The license plates don't really prove much, as evidenced by the license plates in IV using "Liberty City State" plates.

But shouldn't this be in the Gaming Discussion board, or the GTA V thread?

Map has to be big enough to allow planes. Enjoy your two discs, Xbox.

Or more.. Blu Rays can hold over 25gb of data, and 50gb on a dual layer disc. Whereas Xbox 360 can hold 7.5gb of data. Since R* wants to use the blu ray to its full potential.  Hahaha lucky I got ps3.....

In GTA SA trailers they only showed LS as far as I remember... But I doubt they'd come back with LV and SF. More like Dillimore Blueberry etc. but in decent sizes and such. If they come back with SF and LV they'd have to render it as realistically as LS, so I can imagine the hell of a map it'd be.

Exactly the reason I'm purchasing a kick-ass gaming PC. I just hope they don't delay the PC release as per usual, or I'll be pissed.

It says San Andreas because Los Santos is in San Andreas.
It is already confirmed by Rockstar that it's LS and surrounding area only.

R* would have a hard time marketing a 50 GB game to PC gamers. At least in this day and age.
We'll see in 3-5 years.

I'd happily install a 50gb game.

GTA IV Engine, based on Loas Angeles and with planes.

Yeah, I'd be fine with 50GB, I have 1TB to spare.

GTA IV Engine, based on Loas Angeles and with planes.

I hope that R* Will not do the mistake to use the IV engine again. Just playing IV shows you what a failure that engine is.

GTA 1,2 and 3 were basically hopeless engines imo, felt cheap and nasty, SA had afun feel to it. IV is different, not a failure.

All I want is for an NRG to do a backflip in SA

The IV engine is a failure, and that is a fact. Huge memory leaks and lag which is killing the game and makes it unplayable.

All of the issues you mentioned were fixed even before IVMP was published, with a patch of 1.0.5.0 and the patch required for IVMP is 1.0.7.0. ;)

Besides Rockstar Games will be using the same or either very similar (tweaked, obviously) game engine for V.

+5345 There were more lags in the GTA IV than the points I just gave you.

lol? read the reviews at the times they were created, GTA 3 is still a master piece tho. The thing you're saying is like someone saying steam engines suck in 21st century, ofcourse they do, but don't forget they were the base and in their own time they were epic.

Note to Consider: I have NEVER had any lag or texture issues with GTA IV

IMO, you should get a better card if this is what's happening to you.

Well that's a load of bullshit.
Perhaps what you named happened on the pc, but then again PC's are not made for games.
Gta 4 was a perfect game on consoles, a game of a new kind.

Agree.

However, more customization needed.

I doubt it will be all of San Andreas. It looks like they are redisigning Los Santos more in the geographical stle of Los Angeles, with the sea on one side, and mountains on 3 other sides? And the map will probably cut off after the mountain ranges  (like it does all around SA like in Bayside.
